Help with Boston Horner Cabinet ID Found my own answer
1 Attachment(s)
I have a newly acquired Carl Horner cabinet of an early turn of the century Boston player. There is a penned ID on the back(not in Carl Horners hand), but I am fairly certain the ID is incorrect. I have sifted thru team photos, composite photos, etc and cannot pinpoint who this is for sure.
Anyone able to definitively ID him? Scott |
Found my answer in a 1904 Sporting Life Booklet with a team composite that was different than the W601 they issued(I always assumed they were the same). Oh, and I had his W600 cabinet the entire time as well and somehow missed the match when I went thru the images!
It's Joe (J.B.) Stanley who had a short career with Boston, 1903 and 1904. Same image as the Allegheny Co. card(one of a kind) and was available for a short time in the Sporting Life W600 offerings. |
