Antique 1920s Baseball Glove - Brand?

2 Attachment(s)
Hi again all.
Along with my 20's bat I picked up, I thought I would get this glove. From what I can tell from KeyMans Collectibles, I think the style is called split finger tunnel loop? That places it in 20's and early 30's. Am I right?

To the question. It has no branding anywhere, not even the button. Just the owner's name (I am guessing) written on the strap. Unlike unmarked bats (that could be lathed in a barn), I would think gloves have to be certain brands - and marked somehow?

Ideas on this? What should I be looking for?

As always, I am eager to learn. Best, Casey

The stampings probably wore away completely with use. It's likely a mid-range model, as evidenced by the type of piping and lack of a wrist logo patch. You would expect a higher-end model to have thicker rolled leather piping and a wrist patch or logo button indicating the manufacturer.

Otherwise it appears to be a nice example of a 1920s- 30s split finger glove, as you correctly surmised.

Wouldn't it be cool if a relative of J. Castelli were on the board and they were seeing the glove for the first time? Maybe it could become a Hallmark movie?

I looked all over it with high magnification loop. Nothing but leather grain. Looks like we may never know the brand. I like it a lot still. In pretty good shape. Displays well. Thanks for the feedback. Open to anyone else thoughts. (I did a quick Google and Baseball Almanac search on J. Castelli - nothing comes up :-). Thanks! Casey
