O/T Pinback help. Fitzsimmons & Corbett Boxers

Hi, I posted this on the boxing side, but with no responses. Hoping a pinback expert can chime in here

Seeking opinions on these two pinbacks I got in from a consignor. Measures 1.25" inches in diameter.

No paper insert on backs.

The Fitzsimmons matched up with a Hake's auction pinback of the same size but I've also seen it offered in 7/8" inch diameter.

I can't find back scans of these anywhere.

Does the backing and pin look original to those familiar with these? Thanks for looking.

I think they are P20's..........High Admiral Cigarettes.......if you look at the ACC for P20 it's for actresses and says 'contains a prizefighter' but I think they're both P20's. I've seen the Fitzsimmons more frequently and have a couple of the actresses but they're missing back papers as well...........just my opinion! Really clean pins though.....

p.s. there's Pepsin Gum or Whitehead Hoag 7/8" versions of the Fitzsimmons too. Never have seen a Corbet in the same size though.

Thanks for the response Tom.

I believe these were issued in conjunction with the Corbett and Fitzsimmons bout of 1897. Would this date coincide with the actress pins........and does the 1.25" size match-up?

Also, does the pin style on the back match up. I want to make sure they are the original pins.

I've seen them often mentioned as Whitehead & Hoag also, but never with a back image to confirm this.

Thanks. - Dave

Come to think of it, the Fitzsimmons / Corbett bout had been in the works for a couple years prior to it actually happening, so if it was a pre-fight issue it could be anywhere from 1895-1897.
