M101-4 Noon-Day Cafeteria

Posted By: leon
Since I learned how to read recently I have been scouring some old publications about the hobby. I "thought" I had a complete back set, of M101-4's and 5's until now....(drats). This was in The Old Judge by Lew Lipset of Oct. 1987.....Lew certainly has done more for the hobby than most....best regards.."another frustrated set collector"....

Posted By: leon
Even type collectors can collect sets .... Actually I am a type collector and a "back" set collector......done with the e94 overprints (known), T204 I still need a blank back, T205 done, t206 still trying to firgure out what are legit back variations and have not tried too much, T207 finsihed, T209 finished (1 variation), T210- haven't gone for all the series yet, T212 finsihed, T213 finished, still need a T215 although it's sort of international, T216 finsihed....M101-4/5- finsihed until I read yesterday ...IF anyone has one of these, or has seen one of the Noon-Day Cafeteria one's, I would love to know about it...back collecting is fun....regards

Posted By: Mike
Who says Minnesota is cold? I have coconut trees and banana trees flourishing in my back yard. Parrots and elephants thriving. I wish..... I hit on some Dizzy Dean material in an antique store in southern Minn. Tuesday afternoon. Mid thirties. I don't collect him, but couldn't pass them up. Neat stough. Never know what lurks out there in the hinterlands...

>]

Posted By: Scot Reader

Glen,
Thanks for the additional information and the link. I wish I knew the answer to your question re Gimbels. I'm also unsure if Holmes-to-Homes can be found with M101-4, M101-5 or both. The Old Cardboard backs gallery is great viewing but does not seem to distinguish betweeen M101-4 and M101-5.
Scot
