Thinking this should be re-slabbed

What do you think?

ullmandds 06-28-2013 11:25 AM

for what reason?

peterose4hof 06-28-2013 11:28 AM

Wrong name. In all fairness, the Mullen & Jones do look a lot alike.

auggiedoggy 06-28-2013 11:31 AM

Yes

Yes and it should be free.

After all, they got the name wrong, didn't they! :o

tschock 06-28-2013 11:32 AM

List it as a rare error, where they spelled "Jones" as "Muller". :D

Personally, I think it's cool and would keep it as is.

Reslab! Get it corrected. Dave.

Re-Slabbed?

This card does have a couple of light scratches. While I agree with you that the appearance is better than a 2, SGC issues harsh technical grades for certain pet peeves they have, and one of them is paper loss. A few weeks ago an SGC rep told me that even if a card is otherwise an absolute gem-mint "10," if it has any paper loss on front (even border paper loss), the best grade it can receive is only a 3. Seriously.

He isn't questioning the grade, which is probably correct. They put the wrong player name on the flip.

Contact Earl at SGC. This has happened to me 3 times with cards I've purchased - If you send it to SGC, they will reslab it for free and ship it back to you for free.

So, my question is, is there a Jones with a Mullen flip?

iwantitiwinit 06-28-2013 12:26 PM

Too much hassle for a $20 card leave as is.

bbsports 06-28-2013 12:30 PM

The only error here is that the card was slabbed wrong. I'm sure that SGC will reslab the card free of charge.

robw1959 06-28-2013 12:42 PM

I get it now. Never even noticed the discrepancy and I'm the person who had it slabbed in the first place!

bigtrain 06-28-2013 12:54 PM

The Jones card is very similar and I really didn't notice until I had already bid. I still like it and will probably keep it as is. Learned a lesson to look more closely and not bid from the tiny picture on my phone.

Tom,

Leave it as it is and then when it's time to sell, you can list it as a Jones and Mullen card and double the number of potential buyers.;)

Absolutely... I just sent them a card that had a mistake on the flip. I've done it in the past as well. No charge...
