Lelands Auction

Started 8/22/21
Ends 9/25/21

Is this the first one that lasts over a month?

I will say I asked a couple questions about a couple lots over the weekend and that got back to me first thing Monday morning.

So top notch Customer Service!

But over a month...that seems too long.

This question does not apply to Lelands.

Is it typical that if you contact a particular auction house about a potential consignment (where the consignment is quite marketable but not high end) that you don't get any response even to say thanks, but we will pass?

it is typical with auction houses that have their heads up their asses. look at it this way, the auction house you contacted did you a favor because if they can’t get back to you, they surely would have screwed up something else along the way. covid probably is their reason for not getting back to you. lol.

i once left three voicemails and sent two emails over a period of 12 days to request better scans of the no.3 lot in a one-man-show’s auction (a card that ended up selling for more than 25K). never received a response, but I still get his mass emails seeking consignments. like that will ever happen.

I have never really paid attention if they were over am month or not but so many of these actions seem to go on forever.

I looked on AuctionReport.com for the remainder of the year calendar for all auctions that they list and nothing goes over a month.

I'd rather have an auction last 33 days and end the night it's supposed to, rather than have a shorter auction suddenly, 7 minutes before lots start to close, extend by a day.

I would say hopefully you gave more than one attempt at contact. I know I occasionally miss an email or a voice mail but would never fail to answer a query if I see it.

And Ronnie I was worried that you're bad experience was with me somehow, but I looked and you haven't registered with me so :p

Month too long. Agree. 90% of the bidding is in the first 3-4 days and the last 48 hours. So what's the point?

Not by much, and not for long.

RedsFan1941 08-24-2021 05:52 PM

BRoberts 08-25-2021 05:38 AM

Ronnie, I don't think I've ever seen you post a card. Do you collect?

of course. working on trying to get all of the t206 cincinnati players with all possible backs. also have a small collection of signed t206 cards (nine, eight different).

I didn't see in the rules what happens if a bidder dies of old age before the auction closes. Are his bids cancelled, or are his heirs responsible to honor them?
