707 Sportscards

Posted By: James Feagin
I wanted to report a really nice experience with 707 Sportscards. At times, they've taken some grief on the board. With a promotional listing day, several dealers seem to offer graded cards at inflated prices. I picked up these two cards on Thursday night. Collector's of the Tattoo Orbit set know that these two cards, particularly the Alexander hardly ever come up! I paid $225 for the Alexander and $350 for Cuyler. I paid via phone on early Friday afternoon. Imagine my surprise when the package arrived at my door less than 24 hours later. Professionally packed, what a turnaround time! Here are the cards...

Great working with 707, first time customer, and undoubtedly not the last time!

I think most of the talk is they just have some higher prices, maybe that is why they have taken some grief on the board.

Jimmy
Posted By: Bob
James, two very nice cards at great prices. You probably broke some hearts with that Alexander. I know it was my last card to complete the set. I lucked out and bought Carter's. Had I seen that Alexander you bought, I would have easily paid $400 and tucked it away for trading purposes. Happy for you!
tbob

Posted By: James Feagin
Bob,

The Alexander and Cuyler put me at 40 of 60. I now have all of the SP's, but still need Foxx, Mack and a few minor HOFers. I have hopes though! Another SP from that set, which isn't recognized is Grube. I've never seen a copy for sale.

Posted By: Alan
I've know Levi since the beginning of time. He's been in the hobby a long time and has built up a very good full-time business. I remember when he was working in construction or something similar full time & was doing cards part time and, at the time, he mentioned that selling cards (his part time job) was not as physically demanding as his full time job. Anyone that mentions "Levi" knows they are talking about him. He is as reputable, if not more so, as any seller on earth. His helper/friend Jim is a good guy, too. You just reminded me to invite him to my Friday night dinner at the National.

Posted By: Matt
I contacted them a few times in the past over ebay asking them if they could give me a better price on a few cards; the only time I ever got a response was to let me know they would ask Levi, but they never followed up. I'm sure if they've got what you want at a price you want, their service is great on the fulfillment side, but I don't even bother contacting them anymore.

Posted By: Michael Steele
Glad to hear James had a good experience with 707. It does give me confidence as I have never purchased from Levi as the pricing as kind of always stopped me in my tracks. They have been around since 1988 (under 707) and they obviously have respect in the industry. My thought process as been "boy, I hope I can get these prices if I ever decide to sell my cards" . But this is good to see this mostly positive thread on their business.
