The Collector Connection Pre War Last Day Today 11/28

8 Attachment(s)
The only Pre War dedicated auction in the hobby!

We have a WIDE selection of interesting items and a nice chunk of the stuff you see lots of also.

7 Rose Company Postcards including the only Cy Young No Team (and only the 3rd Cy Young of any variation)

Attachment 488148

Plus a No Team Matty (much tougher than the regular With Team)

Attachment 488151

There are also some Pop 1 Commons and a rare Ad Back!

Then if Rose Co. Postcards are too common for you how about 1921 W-Unc Self-Developing Strip Cards?

Before the find that was consigned to us there were 15 players on the checklist of this obscure set and only two had ever been graded. We added 6 players to the checklist including 3 new HOF'ers! So the vast majority of these are the only graded examples like the Ruth and Cobb pictured below, and a number of them are the only example known like the Sisler and Maranville below!

My favorite item in the auction might actually be the invitation to a World Series Celebration party for the 1937 NY Yankees at the Commodore Hotel from Col Ruppert! If you like unique items how many of these do you think have survived to today?

Plus great T206's, Goudeys, Play Balls and much much more!

Great selection Scott, fantastic RPC's.

Yes. We thought it was done Saturday night as usual but then we got a shipment back from SGC and two consignors wanted to list now, hence the later than normal update.

This auctions has a lot of unique items, items that do not come often and items with nice eye appeal

Sensory overload

Thanks. It's always funny how things turn up in bunches. Not just the RPPC's but the Rose CO, Novelty Cutlery, and regular vintage postcards after really only ever having the occasional postcard previous to this. 4 or 5 different consignors with postcards in the auction.

The 1921 W-UNC self-developing strip card of Ty Cobb is not the only one SGC has graded.

Aquarian Sports Cards 11-20-2021 07:23 PM

Yeah I'm finding their pop report to be unreliable to put it mildly. I have another card in the auction in an SGC holder that their pop report claims doesn't even exist.

Thanks Jeff, I'm always worried about the next auction so it's hard to enjoy the one that's running. Certainly don't think we're going to be able to put one together like this one every time out.

Very nice auction Scott, Good Luck

Happy Thanksgiving all. Still tons of bargains. Maybe check us out and if we have anything that interests you, you can show your support on small business Saturday!

Wanaselja 11-25-2021 10:26 AM

Registered this morning and put in a few bids.

And here we thought all these years the proceeds went to charity.

I'm hoping to take home a few more cards from this auction!
Nice assortment again!

Aquarian Sports Cards 11-28-2021 10:26 AM

Thanks for all the support, still some bargains to be had T206's under $20. 1933 Goudey HOF'ers in SGC 3 under $100, and much more.

Just a reminder to bid on an item in extended bidding you must have a bid placed on THAT ITEM before 10pm tonight. A bid on one item does NOT entitle you to bid on all items in extended bidding!

Lots close individually. So if a lot enters extended bidding at 10pm and gets no bids for 15 minutes that lot closes at 10:15. A bid on one item only keeps THAT ITEM open.

Any questions give me a call, we will approve late registrations as quickly as possible but don't wait until 9:30pm to start the process!

Aquarian Sports Cards 11-28-2021 07:10 PM

One hour left for preliminary bids.

What an enjoyable auction, focused on collectors.

Scooped up 5 cards, each an ungraded T206 or ‘33 Goudey.
The Obaks were interesting as well.

Very pleased. Thank you, Scott. Well done, sir.

babraham 11-28-2021 11:34 PM

Another great auction, thanks Scott!
Ended up adding two more cards to my collection.

Thanks again, can't wait for the next one! :)

cgjackson222 11-29-2021 08:37 AM

Just want to echo everyone else, that I really enjoyed the auction. I love that each lot enters a discrete 15 minute extra time window that resets when a new bid is given (rather than resetting after the 15 minutes is up). Makes it a lot easier to stay up and follow. That being said, I was chasing the self-developing W-UNC Sisler pretty late into the night. Alas, someone outlasted me for it.

jsfriedm 11-29-2021 10:34 AM

Picked up a few 33 Goudey commons for my set, thanks Scott!

Natswin2019 11-29-2021 10:44 AM

Posted it in the pick up thread but was able to get my first ever Walter Johnson card in this auction. Thanks again for the great auction Scott!

I love to hear this. While it's awesome having some of the cool big dollar cards, this is what I was always about, and why we chose the new name for the company. I love connecting collectors to the cards they need!

Steve D 11-29-2021 04:29 PM

Great auction!

Bid on three T207s and won all three! :D

Auction (well, the items I bid on) was over before 9:30 PM Central :D
