Magie scam (no longer a scam as of 4pm)

Posted By: Adam
Have been trying to ask seller if the blury card image say MAGEE or MAGIE. Some entertaining responses. You should try too!

Responses include: "That's what the dealer says" and "It says what it says."

<a href="http://tinyurl.com/4c7m7c</a" target="_new" rel="nofollow">http://tinyurl.com/4c7m7c</a>
Magie scam (no longer a scam as of 4pm)

Posted By: Eric B
Sounds like fun. I just sent in the following.

Does the card say Magee or Magie? It's priced as a Magie, but the blurry scan looks like a Magee. which would be dishonest.

Posted By: davidcycle
Email the seller and say, "As a potential bidder interested in your autographs and rookie cards, should I assume they are as authentic as the T206 Magie?"

Magie scam (no longer a scam as of 4pm)

Posted By: jeffdrum
Well the BIN is $85 and the title line says MAGEE with the text saying Magie. However, it stands a better chance of being an authentic Magie than the 33 Goudey Ruth does being a 33 Goudey Ruth.

Magie scam (no longer a scam as of 4pm)

Posted By: Adam
This is funny -- at the time I first posted, it was a $3000+ buy it now auction for a "Magie." Now it has magically been edited/revised into a legit auction. Good work everyone! Cleaning up eBay vintage card auctions one at a time for the benefit of all!

Text now also says "THIS IS NOT A MAGIE ERROR CARD" -- that is correct!

Posted By: JimB
Although it is corrected, this seller is perfectly qualified to be an ebay scammer. His grammar is worse than that of a first grader and he writes in all capitals.
JimB

Posted By: Eric B
SORRY BUT THIS IS A MAGEE CARD MY WIFE PUT THIS NOT IN RIGHT . SORRY AND THANKS.

I wish my wife knew enough about cards that she would put a $3,500 BIN price when she thought she was listing a Magie for me.

Posted By: Adam
And the image has changed now -- it's no longer blury and you can read "MAGEE" clearly now. Very shady.
