I can't argue too much with this. Mariners over the Astros is bold

I predict the Mets will find a new and different way of ripping my heart out of my chest and stomping on it.

B. Edwin Diaz reverts back to the HR-prone disaster he was in his first year with the team
C. Scherzer finally falls back to earth and puts up a 4.75 ERA for the year

I’m a Red Sox fan and agree with the prediction for them 100%. Orioles I’d put in third with a shot at second.

And Degrom will stay healthy and have a monster year

I'm actually shocked by the prediction for the Blue Jays and the White Sox. What have either done to improve upon last year? The White Sox have under achieved for 2-3 years in a row.

Well, it should help that we have a manager now that's under 80 years old. And 5 of our starting lineup missed at least 1/3 of the season last year, and mostly played injured when they did play. We should be much better, I think we should win our division this year.

Several of the MLB.Com 'experts' are ranking the Braves way too high...one of them even has them at #1.

As much of a fan as I am, I just don't see it. I think they will miss Swanson more than they thought.

I hope I'm wrong.

Interesting that the prediction is for 11 of the 12 teams that made the playoffs last season to make it again with the only change being White Sox replacing Tampa Bay. To me, it seems unlikely that will really happen.

I noticed that also and thought it was interesting.

I thought that the NL is pretty straight forward and it was a toss up in the NL East

In the AL I would have chosen either the Guardians or the Whitesox not both. I would lean towards the Guardians. I would keep Tampa in and I would put the Yankees over Toronto (only because Toronto always has trouble keeping Healthy)

Al, a friendly wager. I bet you a pizza and pitcher of your favorite beverage (beer, not single-malt scotch) that the Twins are ahead of the White Sox when the National is held in Rosemount. I'll leave it to you to pick the nearby place where I can collect my winnings. :)

I'm curious about the Toronto selection too. They finished 7 games out last year. I see they signed Brandon Belt to a one year deal but what else did they do to make a leap over the Yankees?

I think DeGrom will be solid but not his former self.

I think the Red Sox will go to the World Series, provided they buy their tickets early. It will be a while before they don't need tickets to get in.

Key is his health as always.
