Any thoughts or concerns on this one? Im guessing something is off or wouldnt have sold for 256 dollars? Any pointer are helpful. Not looking to buy this just wanted to be a little more educated on what I am looking for.
Thanks

I would be willing to bet it's a photo copy. Maybe if you added $7000 to that amount it might be real.

what I thought as well. Auction said it was purchased at "estate sale" what else is it going to say I suppose. haha. Not like he could put "My wife was bank teller the day Christy cashed this check and decided to keep it 103 years to sell on ebay for 300 bucks"

I think that is the fake from collossel auctions

The crossing of the T in Oct is different than the crossing of the T in the fake signature...

Doesn't look like a copy to me, but there are some pretty evident pools of ink where it appears the person writing started and stopped, which is usually a telltale sign of a forgery done by someone carefully trying to copy the signature.

Drawn, and drawn poorly. The document itself is nothing like the checks Mathewson used, and it is filled out in a style not Mathewson's.

Except for that, it's fine.
