here's a new scam on ebay

thevintagecardexpress2009 take a look at this sellers cards and prices. what he doesnt mention is he does NOT accept paypal, only money orders. what a douche bag.

????

What is the scam? I see where he sold a Lou Gehrig with no problems. Also, I don't see where he only accepts money orders. I saw moneybookers as form of payment.

It may not be a scam, but his Ruth card has the same PSA Cert# as the Ruth
that sold at auction for almost twice his BIN price. Seems a little odd.

scam...?

well, be your own judge...
this california seller is in new jersey until january 15, 2010, and because of a problem with his moneybooker account, can currently ONLY accept payment via money order or wire transfer.
yeah... sounds ok to me

Hasn't this scammer been discussed before?

http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=117134

I would avoid this seller at all costs. Looks like he has been racking up feedback with high dollar purchases

http://www.goofbay.com/ebay_bid_hist...gbl_submit.y=9

hmm, wonder why he won't accept PP?

This seller is bad news. If you check his completed listings, you'll notice he has covered the SGC certification numbers on a couple of slabbed T206 Cobbs with stickers inscribed with inane sayings such as "possible PSA 4." I'm also almost positive that this is the guy who sold a PSA slabbed 1933 Goudey Ruth (#144) a few months back which was in actuality a reprint. I assume it was a fake PSA holder. I contacted Ebay at the time. Nothing happened.

edited to add: I just checked the link in bbcemporium's post. Oh crap, it's that guy?! Run away.

Mikehealer 12-27-2009 01:47 PM

Well we may know in a few weeks as his Ruth just sold for $5000, which is
$5812.30 less than it's realized price in the Goodwin Auction in Sept.
Hopefully someone just got a good deal...

Hopefully someone just got a good deal...

mike-
I was the buyer of that card... :)
the transaction has already been cancelled.
even tried to ply the seller with fifty $100 bills upon his return to calif, but alas, he just couldn't wait that long, and besides, he has other buyers willing to pay via mo or bank transfer.

This guy!!!

There was another thread recently where this guy Edwin got real crazy,I can't recall the thread title, but he was exposed as a scam artist and responded by saying he reads this board all the time and loves scamming people(something to that effect). This is the guy that was somewhere out of the San Diego area.If you can recall the thread, this is when Leon banned him.He needs to crawl back into his hole..................

Thrill-of-the-Hunt 12-27-2009 02:10 PM

100% scammer, thats why i made the post

this guy had a green sgc 50 cobb for auction. i bid 1900, the card sold for 2200. i got a second chance offer, then the games began. i knew he was full of sh!t and told him so. he does not accept paypal as he told me and i told him to F off. i wanted to alert the board so no one wasted their time.

Now I remember

he's definitey a scammer. I can't believe he is still able to sell on ebay.

Tcards-Please 12-28-2009 01:21 AM

Same scammer different user name

Same ebay seller as cardboardtreasures311. This thread should be linked with http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=118348 as it deals with the same scam artist.

Apparently he isn't going to stop until he is arrested.

teetwoohsix 12-28-2009 01:41 AM

You are correct Frank-same guy.In the past,I bought most all of my T206 cards on Ebay. Now,I really don't feel too comfortable buying on Ebay because they don't seem too concerned about the scam artists that use their site to burn people.
I've reported a couple of sellers for auctioning bogus T206 cards and they let the auctions go,also emailed the seller pointing out the fact that the cards were fake-it was pathetic.
Since then,I decided, until they figure out a way to "clean up the fraud",I would rather buy or trade with people on the board.
I have made a few awesome trades on the board(thanks again Jim),and when I am able to,will purchase from sellers on this board.
This guy that the thread is about-pure scum.
Hopefully he gets arrested very soon.
