Vintage Baseball watch fob questions

Hi-
I recently purchased the baseball watch fob scanned below and I had some questions I was hoping this board might be able to assist with.
1. Any idea how old it is (appproximately)?
2. Is it a watch fob? I ask because any other watch fob I have seen is closer to the size of a pocket watch.
3. If it is not a watch fob, what is it?
I found it by emerging from a scrum of several like minded antiquers at approximately 6:30 in the morning at Brimfield's opening day yesterday. I stumbled across a dealer who had just thrown several boxes of sports memorabilia on the grass floor of his booth. The experience is one of the primary reasons I try to go to Brimfield at 4:00am every opening day. It is a lot of fun (and usually you get cool stuff).
Thanks in advance,

Hi-
I figured I would bump this thread once to see if anyone has any information regarding the possible watch fob below (higher quality scans added). When I walked it around the Wilmington show this weekend, Bill from Huggins and Scott thought it might depict Cobb because of the choking up on the bat (although he is batting with the wrong hands), while others thought it might depict Wagner (because of the bowled legs). Obviously, these wouldn't be exact depictions as the item was possibly modeled after a famous player. Or, it could be a generic piece (which is fine with me, and that is what I assumed it was before showing it around).
I can make out the word patent on the reverse followed by a P and possibly a C and a D. Besides my questions above, has anyone seen a baseball watch fob with a patent on the back? More importantly, is there any way to clean up the back (without damaging it) so I could read any additional text?
I would really appreciate any additional insights or information this board might have.
Thanks in advance,
Alan Elefson
