I'm sending him a message in hopes that he blocks me. So I don't have to ever see his junk.

The pennies are worth more than the cards ....

sycks22 05-18-2014 09:37 AM

Bidding has spun off into a frenzy: 6 cents

team-of-rivals 05-18-2014 03:20 PM

The same clown selling the Ruth M101 'printing plates'........Now up, the Wagner Tip Top Bread 'printing plate'.......the guy makes me want to get violent.

tschock 05-19-2014 09:27 AM

Well, the seller's in NC and only about an hour away, though I don't know him and never saw any of this junk at the local shows. Maybe the list price is in Confederate dollars???

That value is the "graded value". You must not know much about graded values so you learn from him that graded values are always more than book value. He learned this from a PSA ad.

From the ebay listing:
Quote:

PLEASE READ : All of my graded cards have graded
values listed on them. These values are not book values.
If you are not sure what graded value means, I give a
explanation on my ebay world page. Just click on my
user name and it will show you where the page is.
From his ebay page:
Quote:

Graded cards are so much more valuable than just a plain card coming from a pack. My pic shows examples. 1970 Pete Rose in Beckett values at $60, but graded it jumped to $5,676. All of my cards are labeled with graded values not book values.
His page is linked, but you can see the "pic" that shows "examples" is the common PSA ad

Seller also has what appears to be homemade Lou Gehrig game used jersey cards ($1,000 sticker price) up for sale, and with bids. Generic card says "authentic" jersey on it. Seems he is getting very close to fraud territory, unless he purchased his very own Lou Gehrig jersey and then cut it up to put in amateurish-looking cards.

And the "big card and case" part of the auction title really is a great selling point ...

I think those were actually issued by Topps. Here's a Jeter version, being sold by a different seller: Jeter Jersey card

I asked the seller, as I was curious if it was home-made, and he responded: "the company that made them put the card & jersey into them.
i searched authentic jersey card and found more of them on ebay"

I don't collect such things, but it was intriguing that an ebay seller was possibly making his own card using the Topps logo and a fake Gehrig jersey. This would all be much simpler if ebay would simply put their own brand on such items.
