I have been saying this for some time and I think I need to start a thread later about how to do this.<br /><br />As for their grading, I believe that their earlier graded stuff has a decent number of mistakes, but they have been much better over the last couple of years.<br /><br />

Posted By: <b>JimB</b><p>Brian E.,<br />If there are no wrinkles or creases on that Cobb or other problems on the front or back that cannot be detected from the scan then you make a good point. The Cobb is seriously undergraded. But it is impossible to tell definatively from the scan. <br />JimB

GAI is way to generous grading. i dont know how somes of these cards they garde r what they say.<br /><br />the easiest way for me to crack the cases is a table saw. i no it sounds really bad, but it gives u a clean cut to slide the undamaged card out of the case, without bending the card. and by far BVG is the easiest to crack. i dropped a Beckett holder, and the thing has a big crack, i was suprised!!!

I don't want to highjack the thread but many people have stated the Wagner is overgraded by at least a half grade, if not a grade and half. The card below is from my PC and free from stains, creases, wringles etc with the good condition attributed to the corner wear. I expected to see the Wanger at 2.5 not a 3.5 Sorry for digressing from the the focus of the thread.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.geocities.com/engelhard1978/cobb_on_sc150_front.jpg"><br /><br />Brian E.

Posted By: <b>Ron Diamond</b><p>I showed my wife two cards SCD just gave me 1.5(20) grades...we were married when I took up the hobby again over 20 years ago...so she has seen the hobby change over time, along side me at shows, through ebay auctions and 1000's of cards showing up at my home. I only collect pre 1961 cards(though 80% are pre 1935). Even she was shocked at the reckless, misgrading of the cards, or, perhaps I should say their cavalliere changing of grading as is recognized in our hobby. I can't send you images(which I would like to do...but I'm not computer literate and don't see how to). MY cards are not 1.5. I have a number of the hightest graded sets registered at PSA and SGC...crummy cards are not what I purchase(this year I spent over $90,000 on cards). I assure you SGC doesn't even sound professional when you call and talk to them...sounds like some kids playing 'grown up'. PSA is still superior to SGC.

A new company bought the rights to the "SCD" logo, machinery, etc., though the name of the company is actually "Sports Card Direct." So if Sports Card Direct is "going downhill" from Sports Card Digest, perhaps it's because it's not the same company.
