Helmar Cards

I really like the vintage style cards these folks produce!
Have about 40 and and plan to add more in the future.
Was wondering if there are other collectors of these here?

Ken,

I think we traded some on The Bench years back. I chased them early on, but they just kept coming up with different cards and I kept getting too many duplicates in the larger lots I was buying (didn't want to pay for singles at $3 a pop for S/H. other interests soon directed me away from them, but I still have them all. If you need any early cards, I still have a fair number of dupes.

I hate that the seller uses a lot of keywords so that his listings come up in my ebay searches. May have to use the "-helmar" to get rid of them.

I think they're one of the best ideas to come to the hobby in a long time !

I really like the way they look and always enjoy scrolling thru their offerings when I run across them on eBay .

I've had several of them on my watch list over the last couple of years but the price normally sails past my limit. I have a stigma about wanting my cards to have been issued during the player's playing days.

I suspect that if I ever actually win a Helmar art card , I will probably want more!

I did see those a while back. They are great looking cards, but given what they are, they seem to sell for more than I'd want to pay. I suppose if I collected art, I might think differently. It's like all the ACEO & custom cards that have popped up in recent years. Sure, they are unique, but endless possibilities and levels of quality exist or could exist and that is the part I don't care for. Anyone with a decent amount of talent can make as many up as they want and as long as there is competition of at least 2 bidders, they get what they want for them or sometimes much, much more. I bought a couple Garvey cards before realizing that me and maybe one other person in the world cared enough to spend more than a couple of bucks on any of them. We bid the first 4-5 up to $20-30+ each. Now that other guy can have them all with no competition from me.
