1950 R423 Strip Cards and Color Variations Help Needed....

Hello! Have a Hank Greenberg in a Purple and Orange.....has anyone seen a Hank in a different color? Green maybe? I posted way back but curious if any updated details about different strips and colors issued...Thanks...Michael.

According to the old Krause/SCD catalogs, these cards, came with either purple, orange or green colored backs. I've seen and have strips with the purple and orange backs, but have personally never seen any with the green colored backs. Have no idea how rare green backed ones are, but the SCD catalogs were pretty accurate so I would assume they are out there. Now how many are out there and if one for Greenberg exists, no idea. That is a super obscure issue to begin with, and issued post WWIi. You may have better luck asking this in the post-war forum. Click on the "Postwar Cards & Watercooler Talk" link above and then scroll down to find the Pre-1980 forum. Good luck.

Don't apologize, Greenberg is a major pre-war HOFer and totally appropriate to post here. Just figured that since the specific set you asked about was post-war, and really obscure, you may have better luck getting a more informed answer over in that forum than on this pre-war one. Good luck.
