Piedmont pack

Saw this pack at an antique store, was curious if it is legit, and if so any way to tell approximately what year it could be from. Unfortunately it is the only photo I took.

Thanks.

Need to show more pictures. A picture of the entire tax stamp along with factory number, district and state info, and whether or not there’s any over printing.

Ok, thanks for the quick feedback, I'll try to take better photos over the weekend and post them

I am by no means an expert or anything close but I think it lines up correctly with the 2nd Dist. VA. Factory 25.
The only thing that needs to be verified is the Tax date stamp. Too hard to tell if it says the correct date.
If you do buy it and open, I would suggest to not smoke the cigarettes.....
Good Luck.

If it shows a warning (may be dangerous contains a baseball players picture which could be addictive)--buy it--lol--

People collect everything including old cigarette packs--if the price seems fair in your mind buy it! I sold a much later Piedmont pack sealed years ago for 125.00 (no possible card), so there are always buyers--MOO

It’s not from 1909-11 if that’s your question.

The pack pictured could be from 1909 or 1910, but it is impossible to tell for sure from the scans. It’s a 1901 tax stamp, so the overprinting would be key. Regardless, it still has some decent value and if it’s cheap, would be worth buying for a quick flip.

Thanks everyone for your feedback, not sure what is meant by overprinting and where to look for that.

Tax stamps were used for a number of years, so often times the tax stamp will have black or red printing on it which has the exact year the pack was issued (a so-called "overprint").

Thanks for the explanation!
