WWII and Baseball Hall of Famers

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone know about my new autograph project and get some opinions from the readers/posters on it. Anyway, I want to collect certified autographs (preferably pictures) of the baseball hall of fame members that served during WWII to display in my home office. I am a veteran and am so proud of the greatest generation service members that I want to pay homage to them. I have done some research and it is going to be a bit pricey but I figure it will keep me busy for awhile. While doing research, it appears that Jackie Robinson and Willard Brown will be tough to get at a decent price and will probably be almost half the cost of the total project. Please let me know your thoughts and if you have any insight on places to buy besides EBAY, let me know.

Thanks, Scott

I have a team signed monarchs photo that Willard Brown signed, but not aware of any actual single signed Brown photos. However, you should be able to secure a nice index card for under $400 and mat nicely with a photo.

Thank you for the information on Willard Brown. I have pretty much come to the conclusion that I will buy a cut signature of Brown and have it framed with a picture. I hope I can get one for $400, that would be awesome.

I have a signed Brown photo done at a Negro League reunion late in life. It was owned by Wilmer Fields and is part of a large group of glossy signed photos done in the early 1990's so at least one exists :)

If one existed, I am not surprised you own it. To the OP, Rhys is a great guy and if you have the money and if Rhys is willing to sell, I would recommend you work with him.
