Goldin Auctions Ending Tonight-Lots of Championship Rings

Many Championship Rings Will Be Selling This Weekend

Goldin Auctions Will Be Ending Their Latest Auction May 8th - May 9th. This auction features plenty of Championship Rings.

I have a couple of rings in the auction but most of them are not my rings.

So far, the pricing on the championship rings seems very low. Perhaps there are some good deals to be had, or perhaps, as has been the case with many auction houses and their auctions, bidding will go late into the evening and prices will substantially climb.

SCP Auctions recently concluded a sports memorabilia auction and they too sold a lot of championship rings. Prices were all over the place and there were some great opportunities to buy quality championship rings.

Heritage auctions also concluded an auction recently and their championship prices were all over the place too. Amazingly, I picked up an ultra rare, 1927 Yankees player World Series ring for under $40,000.00. How many original 1927 Yankee player rings come on the market?

Some knowledgeable people thought I did fantastic and there were plenty of other deals in that auction too.

So, is the market finally softening on championship rings? Or will things heat up as they often do?

We will know by Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, if you haven't checked out Goldin Auctions yet, go do so.

Besides plenty of Super Bowl rings, they also have World Series Rings, salesman sample rings, and a tremendous amount of other sports memorabilia.

It's an interesting subject Michael. Rings aren't for everyone just as cards or other memorabilia aren't for everyone. But we don't see a lot written about them in blogs and forums, from what I see. Good luck with your consignments and good luck if you go for any rings for your collection.

The 1970 Orioles World Series ring, Lot 19, includes the "rare large orange presentation box." Does anyone know if this is, in fact, the original box that accompanied the ring when given to players? There's no indication in the 2002 purchase LOA, or otherwise, that this box is correct, and I can't find any verification elsewhere.

I have never seen that Oriole ring box before, however, that presentation box is just like the Eagles NFC box and the Miami Dolphins AFC box.

I believe it's an authentic box. And they are quite rare as few of them have survived because they are not like the huge, solid wood display cases that rings come with today.

Although pricing was a little low when I started this post, many of the championship rings did quite well.

The Raiders, player Super Bowl ring and the Giants player Super Bowl XXI ring were each documented as 2nd rings the players received, yet sold for $21,780 each.

A Giants player ring from super bowl XVII sold for $43,560 and his ring from super bowl XLVI sold for 58,080.

The Ravens Super Bowl player ring, from Super Bowl XLVII sold for $43,560 and even the Bengels AFC ring that seemed to have very little bidding activity until the final hours of the auction , sold for $7,865.

A front office 1999 Yankee World Series ring, same as the players received, also did well, selling for $16,940.00.
