SGC Graded T200 Fatima Set now completed!

Finished this fun set a while ago, but only recently had them all moved into new SGC holders. Personally, I love the set. What a tremendous snapshot of the league in the middle of the deadball era.

Ebbets field opened in Brooklyn.

The HOF careers of greats such as Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson and Christy Mathewson were already being established, with Johnson having the lowest ERA of his career in 1913 (1.14).

Cobb and Joe Jackson battled for hitting supremacy in the American League, with Cobb nabbing the batting and on-base percentage titles and Jackson leading the league in doubles, hits and slugging percentage.

Plus, the Philadelphia A's cemented their dynasty with their 3rd World Series title in 4 years boasting the $100,000 infield of Stuffy McInnis, Eddie Collins, Jack Barry and Frank "Home Run" Baker.

In national news, the Department of Labor forms, Grand Central terminal in New York opens as well as New York's tallest skyscraper, the Woolworth building. Woodrow Wilson becomes president, and the Ford Motor company implements the first assembly line to produce their automobiles.

What a time!

Back to T200 Fatima, if ya got em', show em. If you've built the set, do share.

Great set and congrats on completing it!

T200s

Brian- congrats on a cool achievement! I always loved that Jim Thorpe is
included as well... Over the years I've owned slabbed examples of NY Nats,
Brooklyn, Cleveland, and Philly. I traded them all away in pursuit of other
wants, so they are in my "regrets" list too:)

The ny with Thorpe and Matty is the most undervalued card in the pre-war hobby

Very nice. Congrats!

Agreed. Such a great card. I just upgraded my copy above to a slightly nicer one.

Brian,

Congrats, a nice accomplishment. What was your last card?

Brownie33 03-16-2024 02:20 PM

Amazing! This is my long term project. Currently have Athletics, Red Sox, and Senators. My absolute favorite set.

Nice job. I'm working on completing that set. Three away... It's really a neat set to collect. All the great players on 16 cards/photos!

My last card to complete was Detroit. Trying to find a decent copy that didn't break bank was tougher than I thought. NY Americans was the next to last. Definitely my toughest. I came across my copies of both ST Louis teams very early, so that gave me steam.
