Which Major Auction Houses Accept Livestock as Payment?

We have some pigs we would like to turn into cardboard? Is their any auction house who can accommodate us?

Fungible or non-fungible?

In the auction world, pigs don't fly.

It's runaway inflation. I guess I would take pigs as payment. I'd have to flip them before I took possession. I guess it would depend on what card it was.

If I were running the AH, I’d take them, but charge a premium because I’ve still got to turn them around and turn them into sausage.

I know an auction house who recently has deeper connection with PSA can has anything come back in PSA10.

Some may have livestock bid.

Now, that I've thought of that, have to wonder who the FBI is keeping its eyes on at the National.

I have to ask this question:

How many Block and Kuhl's did you win from Heritage Auctions last night?

Err.....meant to say Burgess-Nash.

What's the centering on those Live Stock? Are we talking Vintage Jersey Cows? A Porky Pig Rookie? Need more specifics.

Will PSA and SGC grade the livestock?

D. Bergin 07-23-2021 11:15 AM

To answer the question literally, I believe you might be able to negotiate an advance on your livestock from this particular outfit.

Now you're just a money transfer away from buying that shiny new and freshly trimmed Wagner card.

:D

Brian Van Horn 07-23-2021 11:26 AM

Shaved sheep must qualify as trimmed with PSA and SGC.

I’ve long had a theory that various of the world leading religions have admonitions against eating pork for the simple reason that bacon is the tastiest most perfectly delicious food every discovered. If you want to test people, tell them no bacon. No admonition anywhere against eating kale or oatmeal.

Could sell them to a college student along with a keg of beer and do quite well selling tickets to a pig roast.

Frank, was that top platter of bacon cooked by Gary Mosser?

Tao_Moko 07-24-2021 02:22 PM

Now you're in my world! Strong genetics are worth more than much of the cardboard that is auctioned off. I've spent more on good genetics then I have a lifetime of cardboard.

oldjudge 07-24-2021 03:15 PM

Yes, a savvy auction house would take the hogs as payment and kill them to make various porcine cuts, including the slabs of bacon. HOWEVER, before marketing these they would have to be sent to Pork Slaughter Authentication to verify that their trimming was high quality.

Michael B 07-24-2021 03:37 PM

The way some auction houses put such bull excrement in their descriptions and expected you to accept it as gospel I do believe they accept beeves (yes, it is the plural of beef). This is not directed at any particular auction house. I have bid on a total of two items ever in auctions by the well known auction houses. Won one, lost the other in the ridiculous extended bidding. Extremely rare that any of them would list something that I was even mildly interested in.
