PWCC Redux
I shudder when I see 2 parties, supposedly professionals, really mess up the grading and listing of a well known card. On PWCC's auction ending tonight, there is a E90-1 Christy Mathewson graded by PSA as a E106 and then listed as same by PWCC. There has been no change or correction in the week the card has been up.
Personally, this underscores yet again why I refuse to do business with either company. |

Often a big difference between e106 and e90-1, with the former often much rarer. Here are pics of the PSA mess up in the PWCC auction (I tend to agree that whoever put this in for PWCC probably does not know prewar and is going off the flip).

Sadly, mistakes like this keep popping up over and over with them.

It is what happens when the grading company and the auction house don’t actually know what they are doing nor do they have any interest in the hobby. They are there to make money and nothing else.

Googling images for e106 Matty, I came across another mislabeled PSA. Interestingly, the PWCC one and the other mislabeled one both have punch wholes in them (like lections but star shaped), although the cert numbers are not consecutive.
Here is a real e106 Matty (front and back) |
