Amazing coincidence?

A few years ago, I picked up a fantastic letter from 1889. In it, a player is begging a "Mr. Wilson" for a chance to play ball for the Augusta, Maine, team.
Apparently, they had some kind of conflict, and author (James McGovern) is asking Mr. Wilson to "forget old sores" and give him a chance.
McGovern then writes on the second page that the Bangor (Maine) team wanted him to be their catcher, but he didn't want to do that. However, he said he could go in in a pinch for Mr. Wilson.

This week, I picked up another Maine baseball letter to what appears to be the same Mr. Wilson. This letter is dated one month after the first letter. Mr. Mixer tells Mr. Wilson that the team has an opportunity against the "Murphy nine". But then he tells Wilson to "write that catcher and find out if he can go with us".

Do you think he could be talking about the first guy???

I emailed the seller, and asked if he had any more letters to Wilson, or if he sold me the first one a few years ago. He said no.

Perhaps I am too excited, but I think it is amazing that I have two random letters from 1889 to the same guy, and maybe one is referencing the other.

Amazing coincidence

My recollection is that those two letters are from a group of a few dozen 19th century baseball letters that I sold from my collection several years ago. Some of the letters were from Maine. Dennis
