1930's Carrerra THE FOUR MARX BROTHERS

Posted By: Bob C
1930's British isssue of The Four Marx Brothers. B&W Photo shows Groucho, Harpo, Zeppo and Chico. Very cool image and oval shaped card. Scrapbook residue on reverse looks worse in scan and does not interfere with writing - can possibly be soaked off ( I have not tried.)
You won't see this often. SOLD

Posted By: Bob C
I sold this card to a NYC collector. I mailed to his office USPS first class mail - delivery confirmation. Tracking number shows it was delivered on April 9th. Buyer claims he never got it. It is very unique card and I would appreciate everyone in the community keeping an eye out and letting me know if it shows up on ebay, other boards, whatever.
Thanks for your help.
Bob C

Posted By: Jim Manos
The issue I had with him and 4 others had with him, is he seems not to get his delivery confirmation mail?? Cost me $4000... Should have sent registered...Guess I learned the hard way and there is not **** you can do. I will leave it at that, it is a very sore subject with me and 4 others that I am aware of(could be more, had same/similar mail issue's with him??) My only recommendation is to send registered with alot of insurance.

Posted By: Bob C
Jim,
It is not Bobby Sui but he is an active board member and his office address is coincidentally nearby Mr. Sui's. Not trying to start another 200+ post conspiracy thread - all of that is already going on in the main forum. If you would like his name please drop me an email.

Posted By: Bob C
Jim,
I have the same scan of cancelled delivery confirmation certificate and postal receipt which I sent to them to no avail. Even though tracking number referenced exact time and date of delivery, they insisted they did not receive.
I prefer not to out this board member over this matter now. If anyone would like to know, please email me privately at RBCraik@aol.com and I will be happy to tell you their name.
Thanks,
Bob

If I shipped something with DC and they signed for it (or their cat did for that matter) then I/you are relieved of any liability.

AND I say out em so no one else falls victim.

Scott

Posted By: Jim Manos
I had done a few deals with him before this and I had this cabinet on ebay(after it ended no bids). He ask if I would take a lower price and we negotiated a price. He first wanted to see the cabinet before it was a done deal. I trusted him and sent the cabinet del conf. After a week I called him and he said he never got it?? I then checked with the USPS online and it said it was delivered.(You can check with the #'s on the del conf) He was short and said "I don't know what to tell you but I never recieved" I then told him to please ask others, etc...No dice. I then found out shortly there after a few weeks that this guy has commited other types of mail fruad.
I then got my attorney and got a default judgement against the guy(cost a grad). Which I still have. The problem is is collecting the $ and the cost's to do so. The guy does have assets I can get a lein on or lock up. The costs in getting a NY attorney to do so is alittle different than Dublin, Ohio. So with that being said I have done nothing. This hobby has been very good to me a I don't think I have been hit on but a few small ebay deals, so I guess I learned the hard way. Accidents happen and maybe he didn't get it?? Put with a del confirm and 4 others having the same or similar problems with the guy I get alittle wide eyed.
I actually did post this issue on the forum main board maybe a month after it happened.

Posted By: scott brockelman
you should be able to file an abstact for very little on your own, in the county in New York and/or a writ of execution on the judgement in the same jurisdiction, the writ would enable you to have the local constable or such enforce the judgement and either get payment from the person or you are able to take property or assets to satisfy the judgement. The writ will cost a bit more, but this is something you are able to do without an attorney, once you have the judgement all the rest is just small fees and paperwork in the jurisdiction of the person that the judgement is against.

Posted By: scott brockelman
Just my experience from my business and small claims court, I am in court about once a week as well as at the courthouse following up on cases that I have filed. I am getting paid on about 50% right away, others will take some time. Most of these people don't take the civil suit seriously, even after the judgement. You have a constable show up writ a writ of execution and they will change their tune real quick. Cars, ATV's, Sea-Do's, Equipment, even the house, it's all fair game.

Posted By: mr. moses
is no small guy:-) For a fair fee he might just knock on their door for ya..... If that doesn't work then Leon can do it and for sure the guy would be scared S**Tless and problem would be resolved.... Not making light of your problem especially for the tune of 4000.00. Sometimes it seems that no good deed goes unpunished. Stories like this make me cringe and I hope you stay the course. So sorry it happened and it serves to remind ME to be prudent - so the share was helpful to someone anyway.....

Posted By: boxingcardman
A legit buyer can tell whatever they need from a hi res scan--you might want to spend $100 on a really good scanner and be good about sending scans as requested. Thereafter, cash on the barrelhead before the item leaves. And registered mail has only 1 drawback, which is taking it in. The set-up is great and the cost is minimal. I sent a 13# box insured for $4,400 for about $26.
