Reveal Ebay Handles??
Posted By: <b>Dave</b><p>I know many of the older members here have thier ebay handles listed under the collectors link...but there are many on here who arent and I'm curious to see if anyone would be interested in getting a list together of such? I know personally its a little more comforting in dealing on ebay wiht another member here and perhaps this may be a good way to do so?? Also, I know a couple times I've kept myself from upping the bids on certain items when I've know a member here was the high bidder and needed certain cards worse than myself. If anyone is interested in doing this you could either post it here or send me an email with ebay handle....after whatever list is compiled I could send out an email with everyone's ebay id.....just a thought...if nobody's interested this will drift to page 2 pretty quick....lol

Posted By: <b>barrysloate</b><p>While the links are very useful, they haven't been updated in a long time. No new members have been added, and much information is outdated. Mastro Auctions is still listed as Mastronet, to name one. Maybe it would be a worthwhile project to clean up that area.

I tried to get ebay to give me T206Collector's handle, but ebay has a policy against that sort of thing. So, the hyphen stays.

They have been doing this on Ebay Auto for awhile and today I saw the T3's carrying this note:<br /><br />As the internet evolves, eBay continues to strike a balance between preserving transparency and protecting our Community of members. eBay has decided to change how bid history information is displayed so bad guys cannot target bidders with fake offers using this information. In certain cases, some bidders will no longer be able to view Bidder User IDs on the Bid History page. Your User ID will be shown only to you and the seller of the item you're bidding on. It took me forever to remember that jmk was Joann, for instance. I just learned that Steve Murray is blanchley22 or blachley22. <br />Lately I have learned who larrylegend1976 (I'll let him reveal himself if he wants to)is so that's another guy from here I have dealt with on cards.<br />I could list about 25-30 other board members' ebay ids but I'll leave that decision up to them.<br />Very helpful...

If ebay really does go this new "anonymous" route, will this username list serve any purpose? It's still not clear whether all auctions will be anonymous or not. Stupid story but we had too many members to fit in the To and CC fields after a point (in the days before semi-unlimited mailing lists)so everyone truncated their handle. <br /><br />Anyone remember when Prodigy limited you to 30 e-mails a month? Sometime in April I will hit 15 years online (and in OBC) and it all started on Prodigy. I feel like I was on ENIAC back then!

It was ending in about 20 minutes. So I start the process of registering. I tried 2 or 3 combinations with my name, and got nowhere. They were already in use. I paniced and tried a couple of obscure names... taken. I was about to miss my chance at buying a card of The Great Mails!!!! Help!!!! So in desparation, I typed Greatwake and it was accepted. I got a bid in, and won. So the name came from a heat of the moment thing, no great planning, just after a card of The Great Mails. Mails did have a great year in that pennant race.<br /><br />Frank.<br /><br />
