Please show your large memorabilia items
Not what I usually collect, but I think this is pretty cool. I could see adding large pieces to the collection. Please show your large memorabilia items.

Neat item. Your link produced a "lot not found". I managed to find the lot. Hope the following link works.

I fixed the link (I hope). Thank you!

Joe T. does it again!!!

While it is a cool item, how did someone decide it is Nap Lajoie and not a generic depiction? I would have guessed it was a generic player. It does have a good look to it.

Here are a couple large pieces I love.
An original broadside from 1941 featuring Satchel Paige. The game itself has a ton of cool history as well. And a framed Big 6 Matty board game from I believe 1924. Love big display pieces but there’s only so much room for them! |
Wow, those Satchel and Matty items are incredible. Thank you for sharing.

You should change the name of this thread to "Please show your large memorabilia items." it will get more eyes that way.
Here's one of mine from the New York Times |

This 1909 panoramic of the Huntington Ave Grounds is 8 1/2 feet long! This is the largest pano from the era by a wide margin as compared to any I have ever seen....
I shared some better pics and close-ups of the photo in this thread years ago when I first acquired it.... |
This is a great thread idea! Great items so far

I'm loving this stuff.
Makes me remember when I was touring thru Chicago in a van and trailer in early 1991 (with A Flock Of Seagulls). We stopped by the not yet completely demolished site of Old Comiskey Park where, after liberating a bunch of bricks, I was trying to figure out what to do with one of the outfield wall pads, and eventually decided that getting it home was not going to happen. |

I bet you have some fun stories about touring with A Flock of Seagulls |

Pete Runnels was my favorite Washington Senator when I was a kid in the 1950's. It broke my heart when, after a poor 1957 season, Runnels was traded to the Red Sox. After some batting tips from Ted Williams, Runnels went on to hit over .300 in each of the 5 seasons he played for the Red Sox, winning AL batting titles in 1960 and 1962.
I have been avidly collecting Runnels cards and memorabilia ever since I began collecting again as an adult in the late 1980's. So, you can imagine how thrilled I was to acquire this large, 32" x 48" point-of-sale advertising piece (I assume) for a rather-simplistic, batting-practice device that was endorsed by both Runnels and Dick Groat, the 1960 NL Batting Champion, and that hangs on the wall of my man cave, at an Anaheim NSCC many years ago. I have included pics of the Little Pro batting-practice device. |

Val…that Runnels piece is so cool.
So many nice LARGE items being pictured thought I’d post a relatively large Orioles piece from The Baltimore Sun. Placed an 8x10 below to get a perspective. |

One of those big banners (about 20') you see pulled across the street in old photos
|
So many beyond neat items in this thread so far! I have to admit my favorite is the huge Baseball Tonight banner. I have always wondered if these are double sided or not. Any history on the piece such as what town it come from?
Looks like you have a bunch of other great pieces right below that are teasing to get in the shot! |

This one isn’t double sided. Unfortunately didn’t get much backstory from the seller, somewhere in Massachusetts was the best they could figure. I’m always looking for RPPC’s that show a downtown with one of these banners spanning the street hoping to match it up. And here’s an un cropped picture of the wall. Has some other larger items on it that can fit with this topic… |

Fantastic stuff! Here's some banners.
Laraine Day (Mrs. Durocher) dugout backdrop for her radio show. Bus banner from 2014 WS parade. It resides in the garage. One of the not too many banners that flew over some of SF's tallest buildings when it looked like the Giants were leaving, following the 1992 season. A couple of Wrigley Field flags. Various stuff. The "Welcome" banner is from Spring Training in AZ. No idea what the story is on this nine footer. It came from an advanced Giants collector in SF. It does have a spot on a wall. Generic bunting manufactured by Paramount Flag in SF. This one resides in the garage. My favorite. Batter and pitcher varieties were interspersed with the standard red, white and blue buntings at the first game ever in Candlestick Park. By my calculations there were only 12 pitchers and 12 batters out of a total of 48 buntings. |

Posted this over in the pennants thread, and it was suggested I also post it over here.
I have been searching for a vintage Dodgers flag (burgee) and finally found one. It is rather large (over 8’ x 5’), and was supposedly flown during the 1967 season at some point. I have been unable to locate 1967 opening day photos or any other ones showing the centerfield flags (or the Dodgers posing with the burgee as they sometimes did before the WS) and was hoping maybe someone on the forum might have one. I did confirm that the tagging is correct for the period as the manufacturer added an eagle to their logo in the late 1960’s. It certainly wasn’t the best World Series for the Dodgers as they were swept by the Orioles, and Koufax subsequently retired at the end of the season, which may account for the lack of interest in hoisting it up. For those of us old enough to remember, there was actually a time when winning the league pennant was a big deal. Now, if you don’t win the World Series the season is considered a bust. This broadside is roughly 3' x 2'.
There is a lot going on on it, and the focus at the time was certain the air show. But in the middle of the poster is a mention of a baseball game between a team from Jamestown and a team from Bismarck. The Bismarck team, today sometimes referred to as the Bismarck Churchills (the owner was Neil Churchill) was an integrated team featuring Negro League greats such as Satchel Paige, Hilton Brown, Quincy Trouppe and others. The print below the mention of the game might be too small to read in the photo, but it mentions that Satchel Paige will be facing Ray Starr. (There was a last-minute change and the Churchills ended up playing against the Twin City Colored Giants.) The Bismarck team won 21-6. Newspaper reports tell that Paige sat his fielders for the 9th, though the paper reports that this led to two runs scoring, including one homerun, so it wasn't as magical as might be imaged. Paige did have 4 hits in the game and struck out 11. HOF pitcher Hilton Smith played right field and had 2 hits as well. |
Nolan Ryan Angels Stadium Banner

Definitely not prewar, but here is an 9' long Nolan Ryan Angels Stadium Banner that I like very much that was at The Big A from circa 1998.
Thank my lucky stars for having a basement with a high ceiling! ;):D Big is good! |

Haven't found much worth buying lately so my itchy trigger finger got the best of me and I impulsively bought this beast. About 5 feet long. Has some age to it...and it was cheap. Figured I'd at least add it to my "Why the F did I buy this pile".
But imagine my surprise and excitment when I was able to photo match the banner to the Juice's record breaking 1968 Heisman Trophy winning season! Yes...It's great to be a Trojan...But sometimes it's just better to be lucky. Attachment 674595 Attachment 674596 |

Vintage wood ticket sign from Pawtucket Red Sox

Agreed on Mark's awesome Reds ticket sign!
Being an advanced baseball ticket collector I couldn't resist adding this vintage hand painted wooden ticket sign that originally resided in the Pawtucket Red Sox stadium in MA. Dims: 18" x 24" I've owned it for over a decade. |
Indeed, that is a very advanced sign.
