A game card. These can be had relatively inexpensively which is always a plus. And I wanted to fill a hole in the types...

These cards are really nice. When I had a previous type card collection of pre war, I wanted Honus Wagner and Cy Young that was relatively affordable and I was able to knock them off by these game type cards. They have cool photos too! Ricky Y |

Wow, where did you find a blue Lajoie? That's a tough one. . |

They say that if you see something that you’ve never seen before, buy it…so I did. I paid up for it too but I’ve never seen this trade card before and I can’t find another example online anywhere.

so excited about this one coming in - the original art / drawings / paste-ups for the 1974 Laughlin Old Time Black Stars set. as a passionate NLB card collector, its hard to think of something much better for the price point.

A big thank you to Ben Fisher for doubling my E107 collection. This is also my fourth different card of George Van Haltren, after my N172, Newsboy Cabinet, and W600 Sporting Life Cabinet. I think I'll be starting a campaign to get this deserving and overlooked player elected to the Hall of Fame.

It's not a good Cobb. Maybe the worst Cobb. But he's my Cobb, and I love him.
As for the other two: Roush is Neilson's Chocolate type 1, and Hooper is a W573. |

I managed to source a handful of early pre-war here in the UK.
I'm a novice when it comes to some of these sets but trying to build slowly. |

Strongsville Show
Went on Friday only. Nice show. Wasn't really looking for the Ruth but couldn't believe the condition.

Sam the eye appeal on that pair are off the charts.
Way to go! |
Strongsville Show
Thanks Tony! That Ruth is crazy nice for the grade. I showed it to Memory Lane and a few of the dealers and they said so as well.

(New to the forum)
Don’t know how to post a picture from my library on the iPad, but yesterday at a local west coast show I scored: —T206 Mordecai Brown (portrait, Piedmont 150, PSA 1.5) —T205 Fred Merkle (Piedmont 25, PSA 5) —T205 Clyde Milan (Piedmont 25, PSA 4.5) —1922 E120 American Caramel Ed Gharrity (SGC 1.5) —W512 strip hand-cut Rogers Hornsby (raw) —1887 Allen & Ginter John McMahon (wrestler, SGC 2) All cards present very well to the front, IMHO. Steve |
Sam, those are spectacular....... Congrats.

Latest Pick-Up

The old collection, I had a '33 Goudey in an SGC 3. Unfortunately, I can no longer afford that. This was a reasonably priced alternative for a "playing days" Ruth.

Congrats on those wonderful Strongsville pickups, the Cap Anson is my grail (and it looks fantastic)!
Speaking of looks, Ott seems like he’s about to deliver a beatdown... :) |

One P42 Young in waiting when I got back from vacation and this one just got dropped off now! When it rains it pours. I may use one for trading stock, or maybe one for the backs line and one for the P42 group.
Happy mail day, two days in a row! Enjoy, Bob |
My biggest pickup of my life, have dreamed of owning this. Thanks to Kevlo17 on here for making it a reality!

Who says there aren't inexpensive playing day cards of Ruth. So, there's an uneven top border. So, I'm going to baseball collectors anonymous soon.

Even non-superstars can have great looking cards. Here is a R314 Goudey Wide Pen card of Gee Walker, who also wasn't too big of a schlub...almost .300 career lifetime hitter, almost 2000 hits, almost 1000 RBI's...

My 40th Cracker Jack Card
3 Attachment(s)
Just got this back from the eBay Authenticator on Friday…..yes…..it’s authentic.
1914 Ray Fisher Cracker Jack Card #102. Seems like this one came in a box with a little caramel stain . And Edmond , whoever he was , signed on the back above the line. All Cracker Jack prices are crazy these days, but the 1914’s are insane. Probably paid a little too much( esp with all the tax and fee heaped on) , but glad to have gotten it. You especially don’t see as many Cracker Jack cards for sale here on the forum as one used to. |

@molenick that O’Hara is one beautiful card! I believe the Dockman & Sons is the smallest subset with just 40 cards.
