Accidentally double posted, so I’ll put some cards in this one!
Knocked off Vic from the HOF set. The EPDG had been in my raw box for a while so decided to get him slabbed to add to the line. Good stuff, y’all, Bob |

Nothing too special, but these two Cycle 460s arrived within the past few days. These help to put me over 250 in my journey to complete my master T206 White Sox set.

This walked up to me yesterday at the flea market I occasionally set up at. Ignore the price sticker. It was loose within a stack of 60s commons so I had to put it in something

Comment to mrrealit68 about shoeless joe
Totally respect that you are seeking his autograph. I visited the Shoeless Joe Museum in Greenville, SC last year. One of the exhibits is a scanned copy of his will, which has his signature...the best he was able to sign his name....behind glass. The curator on the tour was asked if it was the original will. He chuckled and said if it were the original they would have to hire an armed guard 24 hours a day, that it's worth exceeds $1 million. I think he said the original is in a vault somewhere in Atlanta.
Obtaining his autograph will be very tough and very, very expensive. |

Unique and antique pickup in the collectors connection auction, right up my alley.
|
My first "pre-war" card. Picked up at the LCS today. Liked the centering.

Eh, I picked up this PSA 1.5 (MK) 1933 Goudey Ruth #144 in the Mile High auction based on an oopsie. I looked at the pictures and thought it looked awesome... I figured the "MK" designation must be for a slight imperfection on Ruth's left shoulder. The back looked great.
It turns out the photo of the back was switched with another cert for a higher-graded card (91183999, instead of 91183996), and I didn't look closely at the numbers. Live and learn. https://milehighcardco.com/1933_Goud...LOT100806.aspx https://i.ibb.co/sg28yfm/Image-6-7-24-at-6-31-PM.jpg |

Did they send you the actual scan of the back? |

I was one of the bidders on that card as well and didn't notice the cert numbers not matching front/back either. |

I like the 1.5 - Ruth’s face is clearer

My first ever pickup from The Collector Connection. I can’t decide if this is more trade bait for the National or if I’m starting a back run as a side project. Many thanks Scott for the really fast turnaround! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...daf412f31b.jpg |

These three arrived in the past week. I overpaid for the cabinet but could care less; as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it. The cabinet looks so much better in hand than that scan shows.

Finally pulled the trigger on this Fred Payne E90-3 American Caramel.
Always liked this portrait of Fred Payne. It will make a nice companion piece with my other E90-3 catcher card, Jimmy Archer. Patrick |

Nice pick ups everyone especially Steve's Cobb and Ryan's Cy!
I posted this on the Postcard thread, and since it’s a June acquisition thought I’d also post it here. I received this RPPC of Kelly Mascot, the seven-year-old son of Goldsboro’s 1910 manager, M. J. Kelly, as a birthday gift from my friend David McDonald. The PC is doubly interesting since it is addressed to the wife of a pitcher on the Goldsboro team, Fred Stoehr. I’m going to write more about the Kelly-Stoehr connection but wonder if anyone else has seen another copy of this PC? I have a few RPPCs from the Eastern Carolina League in the same format as this one, and they usually depict a player whose image appears on T209 and T210. I’m trying to determine how many of the PCs exist and would appreciate knowing if anyone else has examples. Thanks for looking, Mike |

Beautiful and awesome pickup, but even cooler story on David sending it to you for your birthday! That's what the hobby is all about!

The only Cobby I can afford lately. One of the distributors I didn't have so that's a plus too...The NY lineup on back is kind of cool also.

How about that '47 Brooklyn team. Another few off my want list. Not sure why Jackie is only a 4.
|
because they never give these more than 4's lol. We had a stunning complete Yankee set, original envelope and virtually no wear. We got one 4.5 and a pile of 4's and a couple 3's

At least they are consistent (in being wrong!) lol
