Beautiful Cobb!
|
Many thanks Jeff!
|
Great Cobb Tony. Solid borders and good registration. Congrats!
|
Nice Cobby, Tony. One of my top, attainable, cards in the hobby. When they look like that I don't know how people argue about which are the best aesthetic cards. THere can only be different cards, not better, imo. That is a beauty! Congrats!
. |
Peter, Leon - thanks fellas!
Leon, you're to blame for this purchase. Every time I've seen your T205 Cobb's posted I went looking for one with similar eye appeal. No easy task as you well know. This fella fit the bill ;) |

Chase just came in the mail a few minutes ago!
Thanks to Kris from the BST! Lajoie Port is probably my favorite port in the T206 set, so happy add one back to the box. |

USPS SAGA Resolved....... Finally!
2 Attachment(s)
My March Pick Ups were actually January pick ups until the USPS lost my MOs in a Priority/Tracking Envelope.... It really sucks trying and of course getting no where with help resolving the issue with the Govt. Post Office, they still have no feedback or resolution, but it doesn't matter at this point. The great folks at Western Union refunded my MOs and The Folks at REA worked with me and had patience while I resolved the issues of payment! Brian and all the staff over at REA are TOP NOTCH!!!!! Anyways, the 4 T206s gets it down to 37 left for taming the Monster Set, and the 2 T205s gets us to a total of 42 in the set that I am building with my college aged son. Beautiful cards for our budgets!!!

Been wanting one of these for a while.
Went to Harbor Freight today and got this: For 43$ Spending the weekend with my cards. Already pulled the foam inserts apart--my 1st time, so it was ackward. The only thing i dislike- the foam space is a bit wide for a single card. I placed them side-ways. 2 rows Any thoughts??? as i didnt want to stick 2 cards together. Plus i took the top foam out so it would close. |

Also a Piedmont 42 Mullin. I don’t usually put cash toward non HOFer’s but couldn’t pass this one up. Bob |

Can't say that I am a postcard, basketball, nor a female athlete collector, but I couldn't resist this Gibson Art postcard in the recent Brockelman auction due to the disjointed nature of the right arm of this female basketball player. Her left arm looks a little off as well. And come to think of it, those are awfully tiny and narrow feet. Otherwise a decent early women's basketball depiction.

My lots from the Potter & Potter auction featuring the Mark Rucker collection. I now have two of the three Bates College cdvs featured on page 56 of Mark's book Base Ball Cartes: The First Baseball Cards (the outer two).

Nice Rucker collection images Michael. I thought the auction brought very strong and a little surprising prices. You were lucky since it seemed one bidder was buying most of the 19th Century stuff.
|
I was bidding live on the auction interface (not in person) so I couldn't tell who won the other lots. I was the only bidder on the two cdvs I won but the cabinet was competitive. There were other nice cdvs and tintypes that went for more than I wanted to pay. Part of me is glad there is interest in this kind of stuff...but part of me doesn't want too much interest.

Recently grabbed this wonderful postcard of the Jersey City "Eastern League" Base Ball Grounds Jersey City, NJ postcard that is postmarked and dated 1912. The Jersey City team from the Eastern League in 1912 was the Skeeters. This is now a permanent resident in my Jersey City Skeeters prewar team collection and I couldn't be happier to have found it.

Went on a little D311 and 1909 Obak run in the recent Brockelman auction. One could tell the groups of cards from these sets in the auction were from an old school long term collection. Super happy to pick up what I could. Thank you to Scott and the consignor. - |
