Here is Bubba my dog laying in the back yard earlier today. The pic at the lake was a couple weeks ago on the last camping trip of the season.

My wife and I have a horse farm, so we have plenty of animals. I'll stick to the highlights.
Our dogs: Buddy,a 13 year old Great Pyrenees/Akbash who we adopted from the shelter, Abbie a 12 year old German Shepherd/Heinz 57 who was dumped out here, and Merle, the worlds dumbest Cattle Dog/Heeler mix who was also from the shelter. https://blogger.googleusercontent.co...0/IMG_0655.jpg And two of our cats: Chester (front)and Raymond Purr. Raymond appeared in our barn as a tiny kitten and Chester was a feral cat that took well over a year to win over. He ended up in the house so we could nurse him back from bobcat fever and he has decided he likes it better than the tomcat life. https://blogger.googleusercontent.co...0/IMG_8454.jpg |

We signed a new rookie this summer. Miranda joined the team and is growin' fast. Big sis Karla, a 9 year veteran, is trying to adapt to a newbie cutting in on her playtime, but we're considering a bench coach to help with their teamwork

These guys and a couple others have decided that I am theirs, and thank me for parking their home here at the park in California. I work in California and stay in my RV out here, and all the strays have adopted me. I don’t feed them, but every day when I drive in after work they all come running, and they are all out there when I leave for work in the morning. I don’t get it.

These guys have been around us for just over 3 yrs now. Both were rescues so to speak (the lady who found them, 4 in total) was allergic so we took them in.
The black cat, Ferb, has his tongue out more than it's in. Had numerous cats over the yrs but never one who constantly did this. :D |

Our 5 cats. All rescues. Stormy and Trixie are from the animal shelter. Lightning we brought in from outside. Merry and Pippin (after Meriadock Brandybuck and Peregrine Took, Merry and Pip, from The Lord of the Rings) were found as newborn kittens in an abandoned house, abandoned by the mother too. They're like children, keeping us on our toes.
|
Perhaps Ferb has Gene Simmons Syndrome.

I had posted on this thread previously, but last February I lost my Great Pyrenees-Akbash mix to cancer. I still had two other dogs, but missed having a Great Pyrenees. A few weeks ago I came across a Facebook post from a local rescue about a Pyrenees they had up for adoption. The post was over 2 months old, so I messaged them to ask if the dog was still available. He was but he was being fostered in Buffalo, NY. Apparently, it is easier to adopt Pyrenees in the Northeast, since most folks down this way only want them to be livestock guardian dogs.
My wife and I were heading to Ohio on vacation, but instead of accompanying her to the Glass Gathering at the West Virginia Museum of American Glass as we originally planned, I took a trip up to Buffalo to adopt this handsome fellow: https://blogger.googleusercontent.co...0/IMG_2185.jpg |

Doxie lover here too. I have to know... did the motivation for the name come at all from the old commercial where the guy had a baseball allegedly signed by Honus Wagner? (The one where he shrugged and said, "I thought Pickles would like it.") |

This is Bo, adopted at 12 weeks old through Wolf Trap Animal Rescue (WTAR) in Merrifield, VA. If you live in the DC/MD/VA area and are looking for a dog or cat, please consider WTAR. It is a great organization that saves many animals that would otherwise be euthanized.

This is Roxie. She's a 13 or 14-year-old Yorkie mix - a sweet old lady dog. My family adopted her three and a half years ago - my dad didn't want a dog but my sister yearned for one and in the end she won out. Now we all love her - my dad not the least.
The first picture of her is one my sister took just a couple days ago - the second is from a few years ago. |
