Here is one link showing the same color lettering. Go down to the second image. Now, as far as finding another example with the same color background? I am distracted by the Steelers game. https://allvintagecards.com/1925-27-...trip-card-set/ |
Strong month out of the gate and its only day one, Net54 members never disappoint.
Brian, good luck on closing out the T200 set, awesome accomplishment. Jim, those 68 cards are so beautiful in their raw simplicity, much like the 69 Nabisco set, a reflection of the times. Jeff and Ryan, great pick ups to add to your already incredible collections. Excited to see what this month brings. |

Picked this up off BST -- my first pre-1900, single-player card. I don't expect to pick up many more, but I figured a super-rare example of a key pre-1900 HOFer, on the first gum cards ever, was worth owning. Thanks Jeff

Dallas
Thanks Ryan...yeah with all the controversy I figured it would be better if I just drove down to Dallas and picked them up myself...I called Pete Calderon a half hour before I got to Dallas and told him to have my cards ready and he brought them out to my car in the parking lot...I just got them back to Arkansas a couple of hours ago...Jerry

T206 Ty Cobb Red Portrait 350/460/25 PSA 4.5
2 Attachment(s)
Recent add. While others were going for garters, I was eyeing this 350-460/25 rarer beauty. Pop 3, only 5 higher.
|
That's some Cobb 4.5 It would like good in a 6 holder.

Wow! Some monster Jackson and Ruth pick-ups, congrats to all.
- Super happy to have acquired this card for my west coast type collection. 1888 N338-1 SF Hess California League. About 20 known examples exist so right up there with Hens Teeth. When Lew Lipset's The Encyclopedia of Baseball Cards Volume 1 - 19th Century Cards was published in 1983, he noted that S. F. Hess California League cards "must rate with Four Base Hits as the rarest of the 19th century photographic cards." At that time only sixteen cards in the set were known to exist, including eleven different in the Burdick Collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Four new additions to the set have been discovered since. This is one of them. - |
