Super cool piece Leon. That’s legit history. Is that the earliest known woman’s baseball image?
Jeff, your BS Ruth ain’t half bad either. Congrats on a monster pickup |
Very nice, Leon -- great image and piece.
Jeff -- congrats on an awesome card! |
Amazing card Jeff! Congratulations!

Another rookie for my pre-war HOF run.....
Missed the 1919 WS on account of the flu..... Per Ray Schalk, had Faber been available, the fix would likely have never happened. Had Faber been healthy, he would almost certainly have gotten some of the starts that went to two of the conspirators, Eddie Cicotte and/or Lefty Williams. One can only wonder :) |

Awesome card, Jeff--congrats!

Amazing pick-up Jeff
|
Thanks Michael, Ryan, Steve, Bill, Chris, Brian and Eric
Appreciate the kind words. And as many of us often do we sacrifice part of our collection to upgrade or get a bucket list card. This one one of mine and gave up alot but have no regrets(YET):D:D Looking forward to a great month of cards from the group and looking forward to see them all. |

Nice pickup, Michael! Those proofs are scarce.
|
Thank you...I particularly liked the image quality and condition on this one.

The 1920s era cards are beautiful, mostly paintings like baseball tobacco. Almost all of them were issued with chocolates. This set has 8 players with 18 cards each making a puzzle. I purchased the entire set. These are the first cards made for Barcelona. Jaime Boix actually made a similar set of world leaders, the Woodrow Wilson is cool. |
Love the oddball stuff.

Thank you Rhett and Phil. Since it is in the same location as the Portland photo from this thread, I assume this also is a Central Studio photo.

Won it last month, but only recently was able to open it. The top to a yukata box used by US players during the 1934 tour of Japan. Not exactly a card, but pretty neat!

I saw this at a paper fair and had to have it. Max Baer as world champ. The image is common; he used it for his fan pictures. What made it special is that it is an 11 x 14 rotogravure on heavy cotton rag paper, so definitely made as wall art. That I have not seen before. https://photos.imageevent.com/exhibi...togravure.jpeg |

It took 18 years to find a nice 1912 Claude Berry zeenut. Picked up a redeemed example on July 18, 2023. 50 days later I find another "unpunched" example via Mark Macrae! Thanks again Mark! Patrick |
Have been on the lookout for a low grade Mays RC for quite a while, was finally able to pick one up in the latest Collector Connection auction. It's certainly been well-loved, but I'm glad to add it to my PC! Thanks Scott!
