Outfield tickets for remaining Yankees games get even more expensive?

I have two thoughts: (1) neither Maris nor Judge project to be Hall of Famers; and (2) even after hitting their "record breaking" home runs, there is a huge cohort that do not recognize them as the record holder because in Maris' case, he didn't do it in 154 games and in Judge's case there are 4 steroid seasons where more than 62 were hit.

At both times a Maris was in attendance..??

mr2686 already did give the right answer, in post #19, which you failed to acknowledge. And before you even try to go and say it doesn't count because he didn't also include Ruth, remember it was you who originally asked about the coincidences if/when Judge should hit his 61st home run. Since Ruth never hit 61, why would he be part of the answer? Your first part of the answer had nothing to do with Ruth. Yet you specifically said the second part of the answer is that "the three of them all played Rightfield for the Yankees". Hmmmmmmmm! :rolleyes:

As we have learned from Trivia with Frank Burkett, he who asks the question controls the answer. Plus Ruth's card was in the OP.

Your trivia contest is as flawed or more flawed than any of mine.

All three played right field so why not include all the other Yankee right fielders since the 61st home run had nothing to do with it.

Now if he hits 62 this year, that's a whole different story and inconsequential I might add.

I think all Ted is saying is that all the figures in this drama -- Ruth, then Maris, and now Judge -- played RF for the Yankees. You guys are being kinda harsh.

He asked what two coincidences occur if/when Judge hits home run #61. The 61 years between Maris and Judge doing it is very clear, but only includes the two of them. But for the second part, Ruth didn't hit 61 home runs, yet the OP specifically asked for coincidences involving when Judge hits home run #61, not home run #60 or #62. The LEAST the OP could have done is acknowledge that mr2686 had the correct answer, or that maybe he just missed seeing his earlier post.

And trying to claim that including a card of Ruth's in the OP somehow made it okay, and that everyone should have known that meant Ruth was to suddenly be included in the second coincidence, makes absolutely no sense. Go back and look at all the guesses for that second coincidence, I believe pretty much all of them only involved Judge and Maris, so I was not alone in my interpretation of what was being asked.

And no one was being harsh, unless being factual and truthful is now that. The only person possibly being treated disrespectfully was mr2686, who appears to have correctly answered the question, but was afforded no credit for doing so, or at least an explanation as to why he was supposedly not right. :)

Bob, for what it's worth, I think you and Ted contribute positive things to the board. I also thought you were being harsh about a trivia post. Also, I think Peter would make a great lawyer.

Gee counselor, trying to pull someone else in to change the narrative and possibly give some out for the OP? Frank is a great guy, and so is the OP as a matter of fact. And Frank is also well known for making a lot of goofy and funny posts, that I for one enjoy reading. Now is the OP known for making similar funny and joking posts and doing other oddball and off-the-wall stuff occasionally, or more for being the serious and well-informed long-time collector and resident T206 expert, who pretty much always comes across as factual, knowledgeable, and correct, and is really never wrong?

The OP doesn't normally, to my knowledge at least, ever really act much like Frank in the way and manner he posts and discusses things. So why do you then suddenly invoke how someone else acts and interacts on the forum as a possible reason to defend or explain away what someone else does or doesn't do on the forum? Relevance counselor, relevance. What does how Frank posts and interacts with others here have to do with how the OP does, or otherwise explain his actions?

Quite frankly (pun fully intended), had it been Frank who had posed the original question the OP did, I wouldn't have posted anything. Knowing Frank, he probably would have made some hilarious comment regarding mr2686's response to begin with, or joked about his own mistake in how he posed the question.

And I already responded and dismissed your comment about the Ruth card image in this thread in a previous post.

All 3 played right field. That was the answer to the question. The OP was looking for the best answer, which was not provided.

Ted's a great guy, but I've gotten into it with him before. And despite my only putting forth what was to my knowledge factual and true information in a different thread some time ago, he basically made out like I said or implied something I did not, and actually made what I felt was a very disrespectful comment towards Cobb, which then basically could be further extended as an insult to all the other MLB players during the height of Cobb's career in the deadball era. And when I told him I found what he said to be disappointing, he just did the same thing he did in this thread, say he wasn't going to respond and stopped saying anything else.

Again, I just honestly pointed out the facts in regard to his question in this thread, and how it seems he slighted the person that correctly answered the second part of his question. But when I go to defend and speak up for that person, I'm accused of being "harsh" and supposedly in the wrong. Yet others will come to his defense, and are supposedly right. What is it, he gets to say and do whatever he wants, and can never be considered wrong because he's been on here so long and the majority of the old-timers here on the forum all look up to and worship at his feet? If I am wrong, I'll say so. But I also won't back down from BS put out by some, nor shy away from discussing something I feel is wrong or inaccurate.

Having said that, I love collecting cards, and this is a great forum. And Ted is a great guy. It would be nice though if like a lot of other people, there was more open-mindedness, and the realization that in the face of contradictory evidence or facts, that maybe one isn't always right after all, and can just admit it as opposed to walking away. Too often on here I get ridiculed for long posts. So be it, but at least I try to give complete and factual responses, and include what I feel is relevant evidence and examples to back up my points. But far too often I simply get met with the "I'm right and you're wrong" defense, and no evidence, examples, or responses to any inquiries to try to prove their opposing points or views whatsoever. I've come to realize that is that most likely because there is no factual defense to be given, nor evidence or responses that can prove them right. Oh well, have a nice night.

Go back and read the question again. I've already spelled out how the way it was asked and posed doesn't include Ruth. If it was intended to include Ruth, then the first part answer is wrong then. Otherwise, explain to me then what Ruth has to do with the coincidence of Maris and Judge having hit 61 home runs, 61 years apart. Because from where I'm sitting it has absolutely nothing to do with Ruth.

Great question. I actually just got done PM'ing Leon to let him know about the porno site links being posted. I did a quick check and they had already started over 20 new threads. I would definitely not go clicking on any links in those threads as you don't know if those actually are porn site links, or links to some virus, malware, or who knows what. Be careful.

You did it in an unncessarily contentious way, like it was a courtroom -- anticipating his response and then repudiating it, etc. Then you doubled down. Actually, your wording was When Aaron Judge hits his 61 HR's, 2 coincidences result. The answer of Judge and Maris hitting 61 and being right fielders is correct. Since Ruth didn't hit 61, why would you include him unless you meant that they all hit over 60 and played right field...which means it wouldn't matter if Judge hit 61 or not. No big deal really, just not worded in the way you wanted the answer.

Exactly what I'd expect from you, along with comments about how you seem to know exactly what people did or didn't mean. And quit trying to put words in my mouth or telling me what I was or wasn't trying to do. I didn't double-down on anything or try to be contentious. I merely stated what looked to me to have been a previously given correct answer by someone, given what the OP finally said the answer was.

And did it ever occur to you that I pointed out my reasoning for why I believed the OP's question was flawed so that I at least tried to support my position and opinion? Had I simply said mr2686 already gave the correct answer, and nothing else, I would likely have been shot down and chastised by the likes of you or others anyway for daring to say something you may have thought of as stupid, and with no logic, reason, or evidence to support it. If there's one thing I've learned from this forum, it's to state your reasoning, logic, and evidence up front so you can't be put down for not having any. But I guess that doesn't work or help either because even when you do state up front why you believe something, people, like yourself maybe, will then just take and twist that and try to find another way to blame you and make it look to others like you'reyy the one who was wrong.

A few posters did seem to agree with my logic, but no one has proffered any info or evidence to really refute me. Oh, Peter did point to the OP including a card of Ruth in his initial post as evidence of the intention to include Ruth in the answer, but we all have seen threads where posted cards/images don't have anything to do with the actual topic of the thread. And if the OP's intention was to include Ruth in the question after all, then why wasn't Ruth included in the answer in part one of the question.

In the title of this thread, I noted that this was a 2-part quiz.

The 1st part was quickly answered correctly by Mac W (see above Quote).

The correct answer to 2nd part was simply...."all three played in RF for the Yankees".

And, no one provided this answer.

Those very simply were the 2 coincidences.

And, you just said it..... "No big deal really". Perhaps, I should have stated the question more clearly.
But, what has resulted in this thread is a damn shame.

I've been posting on Net54 for 18 years, and have never seen such craziness....over something so simple.
