Secret Santa -- It's ON!

I will be coordinating the 2021 Secret Santa edition. I do realize with some of the post office/UPS/Fed Ex issues we need to get everything done as quickly as possible.

So here is the timeline I would like to use. There is some timing issues so let's get this done as quickly as possible.

I have asked Leon to make this a sticky for this week to get more people in if they so desire

12.2 Deadline for joining. I realize it's tight but that give me time to coordinate the list. Please either DM or email me your information and what you collect or are looking for

12.6 I will be off that day so I will send out your "giftee" information on or before that day.

12.18 -- Please ensure your gifts (or if you have to purchase them your gifts to be drop shipped) are ready no later than this day for delivery on or before the 24th. I will need all tracking information so this can be monitored.

Since the thought of giving is even more important than the value while I will try to match "value" I would rather you all just be thankful that you are able to give and receive to the best of your ability.

12.24 evening-12.25. OPEN Your gifts and share them with the community.

We may adjust based on your comments except for the final deadline. :)

It may be helpful to also include collecting preferences in your correspondence to Rich. That way, for example, a lifelong Yankees fan is less likely to wind up with a 1960 Topps Bill Mazeroski. I'm told some wounds never heal...

Thanks Rich for taking on the organization...it always is fun for us givers. I am in!

For people that are participating, here is the info requested in the past that you could give to Rich to make his job easier. Let me know Rich if this looks ok, or if you would like me to edit to include/subtract other info.

1) Full name

2) Full mailing address

3) favorite team/player if any

4) Collecting interest from the following categories (for example, PreWW2, Post-War, etc.)

5) Add in any additional details of what you collect (particular sets perhaps)

We are up to 18 participants and one more person who's in but as I reminded him, we kind of sort of need an address for him to receive goodies.

I appreciate all the good sentiments and am thankful that I have some time this holiday season to coordinate this. It's called forced days off because I have to burn 6-7 days by the end of the year or lose them.

I always try to take some time off anyway but the hours I have to burn make it even easier.

While the Home Depot gift cards, suit ties, and one year enrollment in the jelly of the month club are all great "Dad gifts," I can say I am genuinely excited to open my secret Santa gift (lower right). Thanks again Rich for making this happen. Hopefully everyone will find some time on Christmas day to post...Excited to see what everyone gets!

We have discovered one person, because I screwed up the cut and pastes on the names who may have received two packages.

I have DM'd the person I suspect got extra lucky from Santa and have asked him to put the other collector back on the good list.

The extra lucky person has agreed to send the package to the rightful person AND because that my screw-up I am happy to help him in any way to defray the extra cost (if needed)

Hopefully we can get package #2 to the right person by Xmas Day (or just slightly thereafter)

I'm sorry for the Cycle Back way of back to back posts but one of our group of 22 was way too nice and sent me a small package which I just received.

There was NO Need for that as I had the time this year to do this (i.e. off from work today) but I so appreciate the extra effort to get my address and send me a goodie -- I'll be sure to share that on Xmas day

Secret Santa arrived today, thank you very much and a special thank you to Rich for the extra effort !

Opening mine tomorrow night on Christmas Eve. CANT wait! Will post what I got on Christmas day.

Just a very minor note, while I will monitor this as I have done, I'm leading services for my synagogue (Adat Chaverim in Plano) tomorrow night and thus will not be available to lurk between 7-9 PM Central on the 24th. But we have a nice group of people and I'm so looking forward to seeing what everyone receives and gave!

Secret Santa delivered today. Great timing!!

I decided to open the Secret Santa package tonight. :D

Santa provided a nice touch by individually wrapping six mini-packages and placing them in the box. It was like opening wax packs. :)

Each of the mini-packages had its own theme, which added to the fun. Here are before and after photos of the opening.
