I know that the Drum and BL460 Red Portraits are much rarer (probably a couple more as well), but this is my all-time dream card that I will never own.
|
E90-1 Tris Speaker
|
1 Attachment(s)
This one would be fun to own.

Hard to pick just one so I have four.
A E-107 Beckley, Gehrig 1925 Exhibit card, 1948 Leaf Feller and Paige. |
Broad Leaf 350 Speaker for me
|
E107 Wagner Matty or Lajoie, in any condition!
|

1949 Bowman Satchell Paige. A must for any serious Tribe collector who has $3K+ to spend on a baseball card. I'll buy Leroy's card one of these days....

1933 Goudey Babe Ruth 181
My dream card. The fun thing is that in lower grades, it is a fairly attainable card. The bad thing is that over the last year, it become a little less obtainable because of exponential price increases. Attachment 473282 I like that image so much, I bought the "poor man's version", 1935 Goudey Ruth. Scratches the itch a little...but I'd still like the 1933. Attachment 473283 |
http://natedsanders.com/blog/wp-cont...e-Ruth-181.jpg
Attainable, though I would prefer to trade into it than buy it. The unattainable is always a T206 Wagner. |
My dream card that I’ll never own is a CJ Cobb.

Need it to complete the set.
|
I'll list 2
1962 Kennywood "Pittsburgh" exhibits Roberto Clemente 5 of spades (i owned it and was talked out of it years ago). I want to own it again. Also a T3 Cobb - haven't owned one yet.
|

No doubt (among PreWar cards) this one. It's a card I doubt I'll ever own. But I can hope anyway.
Attachment 473304 My post war most wanted is much more attainable, Billy Pierce's '59 Bazooka card. I've come close on a few in the past. Now with a brand new grandbaby (our first with a second to come in October) I have a hard time justifying money for big ticket cards that should go to spoiling grandchildren! |

I guess this would be it for me. My only complete set is 1953 Bowman. Other full sets on back from there just aren't in the cards, as they say. But I do have a few desirable pre-war, t-cards, etc. This would be the crown jewel, but not likely to happen.

1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #181 for me. I'll buy one someday. Hopefully sooner than later.

Clemente Wants
Quote:
1962 Sugardale- Mine was totally free of stains and any yellowing; I didn't realize what I had until much later. 1968 Topps 3D- This was well before grading, it would probably be graded in Very Good to Excellent today, but it was the Clemente to have almost 40 years ago. I knew what I had in this case, but I needed the money for a non-hobby family expenditure at the time that was more important than the card. Oh well. Phil aka Tere1071 |
Either a Yum Yum Mike Tiernan or E107 George Davis
|
T206 Marquard Pitching - Lenox Brown

Need this one for my back run, probably never get it :-(
seems pretty scarce .... Attachment 473323 Attachment 473324 Cliff |

N172 Doyle would be my first choice. There's a specific subset of 8 OJs that I'd like to put together, and most of them can be found for a few hundred dollars. Doyle not so much.
|
T205 Mordecai Brown with Drum Back
|
W600 Burkett.
|
T3 Cobb

I could name quite a few cards but I also want to be real and not name something that I know I will never be able get. For me, a 1968 Nolan Ryan RC in PSA 8. I almost picked one up at this years National. It was between that and another card and I went with the other since that's what my intended target was.
The 1968 card I did see of Ryan's was beautifully centered. What turned me off was that it was in an old holder and also seemed to have a tiny crack. The crack didn't seem to affect the grade however. Again, it was a tiny crack. If PSA was reholdering at the show, I would have possibly given it a shot but since they were backed up, they stopped taking all orders so it was an easy decision for me on the pass. Now if I had enough money for that card and the one I also picked up, I would have bought both for sure. I will own it one day. |
52 Topps Mantle
52 Topps Mantle!! I am currently trying to trade for a 52 Topps Mantle for a 35 Chicle National Football Stars set
|
From a fantasy prospective, I would love to own the Just So Cy Young. From a someday this might be possible, today's pick would be an E92 Nadja Mathewson.
|
I'll be checking my mailbox today to see if anyone sent me the CJ Cobb...
|
1948 Leaf
Satchel Paige Always has been/always will be Good to see a few other people listing SP cards I’m Born and raised in Mobile, Al…. Satchel will always be the goat to us…….. although Mobile has produced a lot of HOF’s ! |

T206 Wagner psa 8

51 Bowman Mickey Mantle.
I regret passing on one before the Covid Boom every day. |
I have the same regret about the 51B Mantle. But I'd have to say the 14 CJ Mathewson.

I need it for my set but I love the card and the image. |

M110 Wagner or a mid to high grade T206 green Cobb.

I'm going to cheat because I need two for my set:
https://vintagecardprices.com/pics/2566/394701.jpg https://vintagecardprices.com/pics/2566/173616.jpeg |
Signed 1953 Topps that I still need, especially Howie Fox, Vern Bickford and Bill Norman. Per PSA/DNA, they're out there, I just haven't seen them yet.
I've also been passively looking for a signed 1949 or 1951 Bowman Jocko Thompson for a while. I watched A Bridge Too Far recently, about Operation Market Garden, which he received the Silver Star in. |
Today I'd have to say a 1934 Goudey Jim DeShong, because it's the last card I need for my set (if anyone has a low-to-mid grade copy they are looking to move, please let me know!)
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...Goudeycard.jpg Longer term, though, I would definitely like to add one of these to my collection: https://thumbor.forbes.com/thumbor/9...3205_78669.jpg |

The T227 David Bruce Brown is the one I'd want. He ran in the first two Indianapolis 500 races before being killed later in 1912 during race practice.
This is likely the most valuable racing card because of the scarcity. Seeing as it went for $23k earlier this year in an REA auction, I'll never own one unless I win the lottery. https://bid.robertedwardauctions.com...e?itemid=82104 -kin |
More Lou
I’d love a nice 1933 DeLong Lou Gehrig.
Prices have gotten a bit out of hand, but this one is on my short list… |
This card is confirmed but I’ve yet to find an image of it. My photoshop version.

T206: Johnson
Pre-war: B18 felt Cobb Post-war: Connie Mack AS Tris Speaker Modern: 2004 Topps Signs of the Future auto Joey Votto I have been in love with the B18 felts since I was a boy. I bought two in high school at an antique shop. The Cobb felt would just be a stunning addition to have in my cabinet. I think they present so cool as a diamond. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...183da84f9c.jpg Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk |

Mine would be a PC760 Rose Co. postcard of Tris Speaker. Beckett added it to their checklist in 1982, but I do not know anyone who has ever seen an image of it.
Jim Beckett was pretty meticulous about doing research at that time, so I am still holding out hope and think that there is a chance that the card exists. If it does exist, it would be part of the "no team" additions that were done after their original 1908 set which consisted of 12 players for each of the 16 teams. All 12 Red Sox players are already known to exist, but the Rose Co. did update their set in late 1908 or 1909 with a few new subjects, so Speaker theoretically could exist. |
T206 plank would be my pick.

I'm close to finishing a 1948 Leaf set. I still need the Doby and Newhouser which are still somewhat affordable, so it's probably the Paige that I would want since I don't know if I'll ever be able to afford it.
|
So many great selections so far! For me its the 1933 Goudey Lajoie.
|
52 Mantle has always been holy grail for me.
I have all the rest of his topps regular issues. |
Cobb Bat Off PSA 4. Let one pass me by about a year ago for $5,500. D'OH!
