Never kicked one of these off before (hope I'm not stepping on toes) but pretty excited to add this one, at a price I found to be reasonable:

Thanks all, and God bless the black swamp find. I don't even care how many there are. High grade playing days Cobb was not in my vocabulary before the BSF

All that Bond Bread talk in the other thread made me do this; I'm a sheep:D

Awesome pick up Andrew, and a super-tough combo to boot. Congrats
Jay, cant go wrong with an E94 Cobb or Wagner. |
Big step towards 520

This one kind of fell from the sky! I expected it to be #520 -- but it ended up being #516 instead.
And great pickup on the D304 Andrew -- one of my favorite cards in the entire hobby. Attachment 403151 |

Nothing big for me anymore, but I do like upgrading my local teams - replaces an ungraded version:

Picked up a bunch of cards in the past two weeks, I just started to snap the pics. Just want to say, all my pick ups were from net54 members, thanks Luke for this one. To all the new members, this is the best place to shop for cards and to find new hobby friends.
|
Thanks Dan, Jerry, Ryan and Jason.
Jason, congrats on the Demmitt. Beautiful card. Quote:

After seeing all those beauties, things are going to get a little ugly. I purchased (for very little) a group of skins from a scrapbook...about 20 in all. Some compounded their sins by also being trimmed.
Highlights: DeLong (skinned and trimmed) Terry, Maranville, O'doul, Kuyler, Traynor and Lindstorm 1933 Goudey: Collins, Traynor, Grimes and Hoyt And the "highlight" of the lows...These US Caramels There were also a few Goudey commons. Still, at a little over $3 a card, it is a bottom feeder's dream. |

Nice shopping job Todd.
This is a Net54 pick up, thanks to Pat R. |
I was fortunate to find these recently which were found in an envelope dated 1911. There was a letter inside talking baseball but not mentioning the cards.
All but one are EPDG backs and they look like they have never seen sunlight. https://photos.imageevent.com/joejo2...e/IMG_6815.JPG |

Congratulations Joe.
This is what it's all about! Sensational cards! |
Joe, Awesome find, congratulations. You really need to spread those cards out and let us get a better view. It appears to be at least three HOF’er’s

Been a busy month
Finished off my Butter Cream set after 6 years!!!! Super rare Wacky Patches pack 1 of 4 on the pop charts!!! |

Posted in another thread. Not really a card, nor extremely vintage, but I finally found a collectible of HOF Spinks Sportswriter's Award Honoree, Milton Richman. He apparently played briefly in the minors in the St. Louis Browns organization, which is why I wanted SOMETHING of him. I collect those HOF honorees who actually played professionally. Terrific cards this month, guys!!
|
A small add to the E253 set and apparently when I can't get enough candy, I pick up this horrible tobacco habit. :p Thanks Jamie!

Pete, incredible pick up. Congrats!
I am sorry to follow that amazing post card with these, but I am too excited not to post my most recent pickups. The (Connecticut) Wagner and the Doyle come from the collection that was shown in the Detroit Institute of ArtS for two years. Needless to say, I am tickled. I will try to post bigger/better pics later. |

T206 scarce variations now complete
1 Attachment(s)
The Demmitt has been posted already in the thread, but I finally received the Smith (Chicago & Boston) variation today.
Been tinkering with this graphic of the scarcer variations in my set for a while, and now pleased to complete it. At 518/520 on the Monster in PSA 4-5, and it's been a heck of a fun ride. Lots of good friends made along the way. Nearly there now... Attachment 404268 |
Ryan, Congrats on three awesome cards. That Wagner is incredible. I knew you would pick one up, just didn’t think you were going to do it the next day.
Also, great pick ups by all. Enjoy your new cards... |

PS will trade you - take my wife. She's not vintage; only 29 so she comes from the junk era. good centering; and rounded corners; with very good eye appeal for the age. rare back! |
Thats Funny Joe. Thanks again all. Ed (Hi!), you are correct that I dont have a T206 set. But now that have the big 4, I think its time to endeavor putting one together.

Picked up this T222 Fatima Jimmy Archer on eBay recently. I now have both back versions for Archer.
Tough to find in this nice condition! Patrick |
Oh, happy day!
Nothing compared to the Cobbs and other high dollar items on here, but a great mail day for me!
Picked these up from another local collector that contacted me. He told me that he had three Fort Worth cards and a price. I picked them up without even checking to see if I needed. Welp, two out of three were needed. The third, my copy was graded so this will go into the page. I can't imagine this going any better. I'm now at 14 of the 16 for the Fort Worth Panthers team set, just need the Morris and Weatherford cards. https://beansballcardblog.com/wp-con...3D5D3B4AF.jpeg |

Very awesome cards this month. I had a great day, both of my purchases arrived today. Not only did my first Cobb arrive today, but my first honest-to-goodness card of Gehrig arrived today as well from the BST. Both are very eye appealing. Going to send the Gehrig off to SGC along with a couple other vintage pieces in need of slabbing.
|
Very Sweet CJ Joe Jackson! Very nice condition and color. Looks more like a 4 than a 2.

After some of the cards posted in this thread this month; this one is almost a letdown. but I've fallen smitten with this set.
|
Picked up this possible M116 proof of Barney Pelty. I've seen suggestions that these cards may have come from an advertising piece, but I believe them to be proofs. If this card came from an advertising piece, the piece would have had to have been huge. This card originally appeared in a lot of 65 other "proofs". A poster that size would have been beautiful:
