ANY interest in a piggyback sub before EOY? GRADES POPPED!! FEEL FREE TO POST SCANS!!

Due to the fact that PSA is raising its prices and minimum card count for the bulk sub starting January 1st, is there ANY interest in getting some in BEFORE the money grab??? I don't mind helping people out, but don't really want to have another 500 card sub. Let me know.

The-Cardfather 12-05-2019 08:36 PM

Hi Bob.

You can count me in for roughly 20 cards.

Thanks!

BruceinGa 12-05-2019 08:51 PM

You can count me in for between 10 and 20.

tjb1952tjb 12-05-2019 09:37 PM

I'll send a few. Thanks

bobbyw8469 12-06-2019 07:27 AM

Already at 30 with 30 more committed. I hate this is last minute, but the price increase is forcing me to action.

bobbyw8469 12-06-2019 08:11 AM

Thanks Dave!!! Yep.....50 cents and the quantity to get the lowest price is going from 100 to 200. Happy new year!

Marchillo 12-06-2019 08:29 AM

What are the value limits Bobby?

Thanks - Steve

seff 12-06-2019 08:57 AM

Bulk usually has a max value of $100

$100 per card. And be honest about it. No slipping in high dollar cards on it.

jimq 12-06-2019 10:23 AM

I can get some ready - how soon do you need them?

Assembly.

BleedinBlue 06-11-2020 10:00 AM

Assembly?

Just curious. What happens in the “Assembly” phase? I’ve not been nearly as engaged in the process lately. Regardless, progress clearly has been made and a major hurdle cleared.

The cards have been graded and they are currently being slabbed.

lowpopper 06-23-2020 04:06 PM

I have an order that is stuck on assembly for a while too. I guess the amount they were grading dwarfed the amount they were slabbing

Fantastic news! Can’t wait to see the grades but I’ll probably wait for the shipment as a surprise.

teza11 07-13-2020 08:31 AM

Hi Bobby - any movement here or are we still suck in assembly?

Jeff

bobbyw8469 07-13-2020 08:40 AM

Still stuck. Apparently we skipped over grading and went straight to assembly. I can't even review the order yet. And we are not alone. I can't even call to complain because this is not unusual. This is the new norm now.

The-Cardfather 07-24-2020 02:12 PM

Don't you guys miss your cards, or perhaps there are some who have even forgotten what they sent in? It's been about 8 months since you said goodbye to your cardboard friends.

When my cards arrive it will be like XMAS in July. Or August. Maybe September...

JollyElm 08-16-2020 06:14 PM

I want to....but I really don't wish to have 5 or 6 floating around out there. I'll have to buy some manilla envelopes and get more organized than I currently am. The old PSA....hell yea.......this new, slow as molasses PSA.......mehhhhh.

lowpopper 08-17-2020 11:32 PM

A bulk order I sent in around the same time just came in the mail...if that's any kind of useful reference.

bobbyw8469 08-18-2020 07:38 AM

I finally have the ability to review the order and I see the cert #'s. We are close!!!

The May one JUST logged in after they sat on it for almost 3 months.

I have some cards I want to get graded but no way I want them gone that long

I have to renew my membership to do that too, I wonder if the free CC submissions are any quicker?

That would be quicker. Not super duper fast, but not thrown to the back of the line and treated like steerage.

Funny you say that. The Iron Man Joe McGinnity I sent in was a Christmas present for my oldest. I never actually saw the raw card as I had it sent directly to do the sub (thanks Bobby for fitting me in!). So, since Conner never saw it and probably forgot it was part of his Christmas, it will be like Christmas when it arrives. I'm trying to decide if I should just causally wait and include it in his Christmas '20 pile.

I really do appreciate the opportunity to be a part of these group submissions. I have a '48 Musial, a '54 Bowman Mantle, an autographed '54 Kaline, autographed '57 & '58 Brooks Robinson and a shiny Garritt Cole x/x autographed rookie that Conner wants to get graded but I think that they will exceed the value of the large submissions. If there is ever a higher dollar one that goes in, please let me know and I will jump on that opportunity.

lowpopper 08-20-2020 09:18 AM

Bobby,

If there is an issue with any of the cards, please don't report an error. That will cause a MAJOR delay due to the current state of affairs over there. PSA will fix anything for free after you get it.

bobbyw8469 08-20-2020 10:12 AM

Now is the chance to review your cards and make sure PSA got them right. I checked over them, but a second set of eyes never hurts.

BruceinGa 08-20-2020 10:42 AM

Mine look good.

teza11 08-20-2020 05:15 PM

Bobby,

Mine look fine, but I do see someone else's card noted with "report error". To Greg's above comment, is this going to further delay the pop date or can this be resolved by the card owner at a later date?

Jeff

No card has an error reported....that was where the cursor was when the spreadsheet was created.

I don't agree with this statement. Yes, they will fix it for free, but why wait an additional 8 months to fix an incorrect label that is not the submitters fault? The extra time to fix the label isn't THAT long. Put yourself in another persons shoes. If it was YOUR card that the label was mucked up on, would you want to wait an extra 8 months, just to get the correct label on it?? You have already waited 8 months. In all honesty, the extra wait is HELPING your card's values, not hurting them. The card market is EXPLODING.

BleedinBlue 08-21-2020 07:47 AM

Thanks again Bobby

Mine look correct

I’m in those shoes daily. PSA will send a free shipping label for a mech error.
Turnaround time is quicker since it skips RID and grading. Hope there’s no errors anyway.

Goudey77 08-21-2020 02:57 PM

All good on my end. Thanks Robert!

swarmee 08-21-2020 03:16 PM

Yeah, the theory being that you're providing a service to 50 or so people. Delaying the 48 orders for the 2 that happen to have errors is a little overkill, especially since those two owners can get it corrected themselves for free. There is no expiration date for mechanical errors, and they get taken care of fairly easily.

By the way lowpopper, it looks like a former GAI grader has decided to put diamond certified stickers on high end cards. Is Purple Label still operating?

Maybe I think a little different. It is not THAT much of a delay.....maybe an extra week or two.....compared to someone being pissed off because there label is incorrect and having to wait 1 1/2 years to get it fixed.

swarmee 08-21-2020 08:10 PM

Well, I appreciated the time you did that correction request for two of mine in a group sub a couple of years ago.

The-Cardfather 08-22-2020 10:00 AM

Just thought that I would chime in......

I just got back a submission for a "mechanical error" (mislabel). It took about two and a half weeks from the day I sent it, to the day I got it back. Not too bad considering the state of things at PSA.

That's good news....at least it doesn't take 8 months like the grading.
