Nice big borders on the Marquard, Leon. It sometimes takes me a few minutes to sort my pics and preview my post, so if someone just posted a T206 Wagner 2 minutes before me, my apologies for stepping on your post. ha-ha

Super thrilled to have picked up two of the missing four cards for my set. It has been a long, long time since I've added one. None of mine are graded so PSA is going to get more of my coin.

Been a long three years without adding to the collection, big thanks to Jamie B & Michael Sarno for these two.
Also really appreciate those that stayed in touch and got me back into the hobby, I sure did miss it. https://i.imgur.com/BkEChxK.jpg https://i.imgur.com/95LxROR.jpg |

Jeez Louise, what a great month so far!
Chris, glad to help kick-start your hobby return. Long time coming. (Jeff saying you have a beautiful Cobb, is like Ruth telling another batter he has a great swing). Mark- fantastic addition. |

September Pick Up Thread
Two pickups from the Philly Show. Cool story leading up to the purchase of the Williams... Came home from 2018 National with a Topps Chrome box for my sons to open, and a silver pack for each of them. My younger son pulled a Shohei Ohtani autographed card (numbered to 5) out of his silver pack. Decided to sell the card (something that we very rarely do) to take advantage of peak Ohtani mania, and use the money on another card that would be more meaningful to him long term. After considering a bunch of different cards, he decided that he wanted a Ted Williams rookie. After a year of looking, found this one today and bought it for the exact same amount we netted from the Ohtani.

Philly SHow Pickups
|
Thanks for the compliments Leon, DJ and Dave.
Leon, not really a “local show”, as I had to drive 2.5 hours. But it’s worth it - the philly show always has lots of vintage, tons of table and great dealers. We east coast peeps are lucky to have so many large and solid shows. DJ, we need to coordinate next show- we gotta finally meet in person. Andrew, great seeing you today. I love that your son got the Williams - I remember you telling me at chantilly a few shows ago how he wanted that card. Very nice example. Now we need to make good on that football Sunday get together. Edited- nice haul John. |
Nice
Andrew, that's a great story. Thanks for sharing!
|
Thanks, Dave! Ryan, we will catch up soon for sure.

Picked these up at the Philly show yesterday:

Crawford
This is a tough back variation but well within my budget. Sweet Cap 350/25. Decent eye appeal for a rougher card, and one of only 5 graded and designated by PSA of the Crawford Batting 350/25. https://i.imgur.com/Ad8qQTk.jpg https://i.imgur.com/pxVTQUc.jpg
|
Dave, you are so right -- those factory 25's can be a real pain. This is true in both series 350 and 150. I have a complete Tinker bat off run, and the SC 350, 25 was easily one of the most difficult of all to find. Congrats on getting a tough combo.

A little rough, but down to 1 (or possibly 2) left in the Davis backrun. Any one have a spare E92 Cocoa?
