So I ask......how is this issue associated with Louisiana ? I understand that there was a big find of RED CROSS cards years ago in Louisiana. But, that could have been due a Northerner who brought his collection South. TED Z T206 Reference . |

Here's Eddie Foster, a player unique to the Mothers' Bread checklist... He's not included in associated sets. This card was only discovered a few years ago, so it's pretty special to me. (The pictured player is Clyde Engle, also a third baseman.)

Cafe du Monde
3 Attachment(s)
Hi Glenn, I noticed your Cafe du Monde card. For those who don't know, there are only 3 known Cafe du Monde cards. Zach has the Cooper, Glenn has Glazner, and the 3rd card is of Max Carey. I don't know who ended up with the Carey. Even though there is New Orleans advertising on the back, all 3 known players are Pittsburgh Nationals.
That is a great card! Thank you for showing it. Rick |

What a great thread! In my last collection, collecting days, I had quite a few Louisiana type cards. But those days have gone by and are bittersweet memories. I even seem to recall 1-2 from this thread..
I doubt I will ever gol that deep again but will most likely acquire a few types. http://luckeycards.com/pt216ve.jpg |

Here are 4 of the 6 Hooks Wiltse cards from the T213-2 set. There are also Brooklyn versions, but they are almost impossible to find.
Sorry about the differing sizes on the scans. I have used these scans in the past without problems, but lately, my 300 dpi scans are being reduced in size, while my 200 dpi scans are fine. |

Just picked these two up today (thanks Richard).

Rick, I use 150 for graded cards and 200 dpi for pics w/o the slab. Here is the Wiltse Brooklyn throwing. I am still looking for the Brooklyn Port. As you know Jersey City is really tough as well, and NY is not easy.
Those MINO's are great. |

?
Looking at the silks, I noticed that my actress silk, which I purchased as a S72-3A, has the exact same back as the 2 baseball silks, which I thought are S74's.
Any idea's on this? They say Baseball-Actress Series on Satin. Thanks |

Just got out my American Card Catalog.
Burdick gave them separate designations but noted under the S74s that they were issued with S72-3. Looking through the catalog, I suspect he did this because he seemed to have a thing for keeping different types of subjects separate when he could justify it. On this one I have to disagree given the text you point out on the back - it seems like these should have one designation, not two. Quote:

Thanks Jerry.
Great run Rick! |

I like the T216-3 Kotton Dooin. That is my favorite of the 5 backs. After consulting with other T216 collectors, I think the no factory Kotton should be re-classified as "Type 1" along with Virginia Extra.
Here are 2 new additions to my T213-3 set. Up to 42/70...The Bridwell is his 1919 "Houston" card, as he was the player/manager that year for the Buffaloes. Glenn Myatt was also on that team. |

Steve, I added mine to the overprint thread as well. Thanks for pointing me in that direction. |

Has anyone ever seen a T216 Kotton Cigs of Jennings with the "Never Go Out" back that the Gibson card below has?
|
2 Attachment(s)
Val, great cards. Jennings should have all 5 backs. Cards that are found with Virginia Extra should also have the Kotton no factory back. Both are thin paper and were released earlier. Cards that have a MINO back should be found with the other 2 Kotton Backs.
Here are 2 recent T213-1 pick-ups...in pretty nice shape for the set. By the way, I need a Bob Rhoades to complete the T213-1 set. If anyone has one, I will trade generously for it. Rob |
