Unfortunately Ruth wasn't around in the T206 era so I haven't gotten around to picking one up. If he was in the DeLong set, I might of had one by now. T206's keep me pretty busy and I'm not quite ready to jump into Goudey sets yet. All I have to contribute is a trio of serial numbered 2017 Topps Archives.

This was my only playing days Babe Ruth. If not for a spec of paper loss in the right border is would have graded NrMint. It is now part of a display at our local museum.:)

These pictures are actually from 3 years ago, so I don't have a LOT of these cards anymore. Then again, I've added some too, so the quantity is roughly about the same. Haven't had time to do another one of these mass shots.

End thread.

The Red Sox rppc is probably worth more than all the others combined. You still have that one??!

Thanks, everyone!

Babe Ruth
How many of you would ever guess that Babe Ruth was one of the first super athletes to undertake a rigorous physical training program ?
In 1925, Ruth's weight had peaked up to 245 lbs. And it was one of his worst seasons. That December he took the advice of a well-known NYC trainer (Artie McGovern). Ruth's weight at the start of the 1926 season was 205 lbs. Ruth continued this training regime through out most of the rest of his BB career. This really paid off for the Babe, as evidenced from his great performance in his following years (1926 - 1935). If you do the math you'll be surprised to find out that his hitting stats in these latter years were all-around better than his previous 11 years (1914 - 1925). http://photos.imageevent.com/tedzan7...rainingpix.jpg TED Z T206 Reference . |
