Didn't notice one so I guess I'll start it off???

Haven't got these yet, but their bought and paid for.

Picked up this Piedmont Art Stamp of Zach Wheat. I have collected Zach for over 30 years and this is the first one I have ever seen. Only 3 have been graded so I was very happy to pick this one up. Has been on my want list for a long time.

First T209-2 pickups in awhile. I believe they came from a board member.

Just got these cards, which includes a Dots Miller silk to add to my player collection. Also got a Rip Sewell rookie..I guess? Can a matchbook be a rookie? The rest are the 1941 Double Player Pirates team set, and I bought the Klinger throwing pose separate on purpose because who wants a Cubs player in my Pirates team set.

This low-grade Sov. 150 had been staring at me for months, but when the $15 eBay coupon came along, I knew it was time. This makes 3/11 for me, with both Sovereigns in hand.
On a separate note, thank you to all who have been patient as I work through this PayPal case. This transaction was completed ahead of time, so I will try to contact each individual whom I am committed to purchasing cards from. Happy New Year, NJ |

The Sunday Magazine
1 Attachment(s)
Thrilled to add another "Magazine Art Cover" to my collection. I'll need to get it matted and framed.
The Sunday Magazine, Chicago, Ill May 8 1904, Sunday Record-Herald. "HEADING HIM OFF AT HOME PLATE" Patrick |
1910 Cliff Blankenship...Something "Unusual"
2 Attachment(s)
Thrilled to have picked up this nice Cliff Blankenship 1910 Obak via Sterling Sports Auctions from the Paul Pollard Collection.
I have always liked this card but hadn't picked it up until I could confirm that he actually was a catcher in addition to one of the managers for Tacoma. Thanks to feedback from several board members that confirmed via newspaper accounts that Cliff did in fact catch for the Tacoma team in 1909-1910. Thanks to those members as well as Lee at Sterling Sports Auctions! |

Been on a nice HOF run :)
Attachment 256790 Jennings / portrait is somewhat interesting that it one would figure it "should" (150/350 print group) have a Sov.150 back, but does not. A candidate for an 150 early pull replacement ??? Also a BIG, BIG Thanks to Charlie (the exterminator) for a grand deal on Hindu Dahlen / Boston. Gave me another tough Hindu, and allowed me to pass on my EPDG example to some guy :p that collects EPDGs !!!!!!! Fun Stuff, Scott  |

Worked a lot of overtime financing Christmas for the family. Had a little left over and decided to try to get something for myself outside my normal budget. Went after a R311 featuring DiMaggio but got outbid. Decided to settle for this Jimmy Foxx ending a few minutes later. Lots of staining and writing on the back but fits in nicely with my other low condition pre-war premiums.

Pretty solid month so far I have some more stuff still coming next week but I got half of my purchases in the last few days 12 more for the set
http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k4..._181843395.jpg Also went to a small card show today and found these if anyone can tell me about the patches I'd love to know what they are and how many of them are out there http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k4..._182626251.jpg |
1914 B18 Blankets, they are neat set, with varying levels of difficulty within (it is a fun challenge to collect them). Also, pretty affordable given their age and the player selection.

I don't have a collecting budget for awhile. I am all tapped out -- went way beyond my comfort zone here. Felt it was a once-in-a-lifetime find.
|
Wow Paul! Need to close this thread no start a new one!
That Lajoie is simply amazing. Fantastic cards! |
Those are incredible cards.

T213-2 Sweeney

Picked up this T213 Jeff Sweeney. It has some paper on the back from another T213, I believe. Makes it look a little strange for sure.

Really great pickups all the way around but damn Paul. Wow.

I'd rather have these 1921 Exhibits over Paul's signed T206's any day. No just kidding...Holy crap Paul those are freiking amazing. Your signed T206 collection is legendary. Now if only you'd sell me your signed CJ Marquard!
Seriously though just picked these up....for the value these Exhibits are so damn great. Can't believe how inexpensive they are relative to most other almost 100 year old cards... |

"Berry" Excited
1 Attachment(s)
Picked up a large photo that originated from Claude Berry's estate. Same image used for his 1912 Home Run Kisses card. (See attached scan.)
As luck would have it, it disappeared in transit for a few days, and it never made it to my local post office, even though, my tracking confirmation said it was available for pickup at my P.O. Box. Called the local exchange and they said they had a package that missed the last truck. I drive over to pick it up, and he brings me another small package containing a T213. I politely requested that he check for a larger package, and luckily he returns with the larger parcel with the framed picture this time. Crazy! Frame needs to be cleaned badly, and I'll get some museum glass to protect it further. Here's what it looks like now. Patrick |

You guys are going great this month.
The signed cards above are so great it's almost like a joke. Phenomenal. Luke- P42s are way tougher than folks think... Patrick, great story, been there done that.....and what an awesome picture!! Congrats. scans aren't to size on a few low grade T205s..... |

...and Paul, WOW! |

Paul - I agree 100%. The WaJo portrait gets a lot of attention, rightfully so. However, IMO, the Matty portrait is every bit as stunning. Leon - nice T205's. Love the eye appeal. |

Berry...Gilmartin Printers
Hi Brian,
Thanks for sharing the Claude Berry Gilmartin Printers. I have seen the issue over the years but never the Berry. Ironically, I had inquired to the seller when I bought my item, if he had any cards...his response was just pictures and checks...no cards. Congrats on the awesome pickup. Patrick |

Help, I've fallen into the 19th century trap!
I've dabbled in the sepia before but I'm really loving OJs right now. This is one of a few January pickups for me. Waiting on a few more to arrive. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ac3bc10793.jpg |
