I always wondered what Fred Merkle must have thought when they told him he was being traded to the Cubs.
"Well, at least Pickles Dillhoefer will be there to deflect some of the razzing." :D |

The kid probably left home with his dad dressed perfectly but after a morning of running around at the ball park his tie is messed up, his socks have dirt on them and no doubt his shirt is untucked and pretty much disheveled. You can just see that he had a great day with his dad at work and, although he didn't realize it when this picture was taken, he created some pretty cool memories that day! Awesome photo. |

Chick Gandil. I think this is a Washington uniform but Conlon has "White Sox" on the back. Interesting:

Anyone has any large 8x10 1910's Charles
Conlon Photos for sale??? Please email me. |
LOVE that Gandil, Andrew! It's definitely from his stint with Washington, and is from either 1912 or 1913.

Came across these two today. Joe McGinnity and Ty Cobb. Sorry for the crappy pics. Just trying to avoid glare from the lights above. McGinnity is maybe 4x6 and the Cobb is closer to 8x10. Too bad it's a little rough around the edges but still a great piece.

Great thread & certainly one of my favorites.
Both of these Type I Conlon's joined my no-hit pitcher photo collection in 2017: St. Louis Browns hurler LHP Ernie Koob circa 1917 and Reds RHP pitcher Hod Eller circa 1919-1920. |

Thanks Scott. It looks similar, but I thought I may have missed something that the Net54 sleuths wouldn’t miss.
