Man would I love to own an Old Mill Joe Jackson! WACTURNER those are some cool T210's!

Got this guy back from PSA today and I'm still fuming at the grade.

Griffins 10-01-2016 04:45 PM

AJ, got to be a wrinkle in there somewhere. Only reason I could see for the grade, but it most certainly presents better.

ccre 10-01-2016 04:47 PM

I'm not a big fan of exhibits but wow that a nice one! I'd be upset as well. Great card!

1 Attachment(s)
Love that Konetchy - fun to compare it to my T206.

Now I know why his right leg always seemed short to me. It was an artist's addition, and you can see on the photo that the right heel is much closer to the lower side of the left leg sock. The artist pulled it out behind the glove, and then shortened it to get it into the image. So weird.

the-illini 10-04-2016 09:48 AM

Ha I have always loved that T206 pose of Konetchy and I had never noticed the stubby leg before! Learn something every day...

I bought this raw for a great price, submitted to SGC with a little concern as I suspected it might have been trimmed. But I am more than thrilled with the result

That Joe D is gorgeous! And so nice to see a Hornsby; some days I just look at his stats and they make no sense. What a ballplayer.

Lefty Grove also seems not to get nearly enough love, considering all the league leader ink in his stat lines.

Couldn't pass this up on eBay...

http://www.collectorfocus.com/images...5-honus-wagner

the 'stache 10-05-2016 10:11 PM

Holy hell, A.J. I can't believe that JoeJax is a '14. That's one of the cleanest examples I've ever seen. The edge integrity is pretty much flawless, which is damned near a miracle considering the paper weight. And those are some of the whitest borders I can recall any '14 CJ having. I had to do a double take to see even a hint of candy staining.

Just a fantastic card. I am so happy for you! Congratulations!!!

Congrats on the PC796 set, David. I wonder how Sam Frock made it into that set as it is mostly made up of hofer's and well known stars. Frock seems to have had one full year as a pitcher with Toronto and Boston. Anyway, nice set.

Here are a couple more T213-2's from the Memphis Chicks..

Picked this card up at a price I didn't think I could let go if I ever wanted to own this card. Does anyone know if a soaking of maybe 10 minutes or so may be able to lighten up the staining on the card? Or would there be too much risk that the front and back of the card could separate? Thanks!

I have never had the opportunity to post a high-end pickup in this section! Through a nice trade, I was able to acquire a Koufax signed auto-rookie, '34 Goudey Foxx, and Sporting Life Bender. Managed to get the Koufax off to PSA before the P.O. closed, all in the same day of receiving the card!

my best pick-up in 3-1/2 years

This is my best pick-up in 3-1/2 years. It isn't vintage, but it's a nice pick-up nonetheless. I feel like I've been through back-to-back-to-back auction house all-nighters, but with 1000% more satisfaction!

I was finally able to complete a set by acquiring this rare, but perfectly centered Kayla Granger, adding this to my "Granger Baby" collection (complete set is hopefully limited to 2) after having previously attained the elusive Kyle Granger 3-1/2 years ago.

TNP777 10-13-2016 08:10 PM

My card buying has all but dried up since I finished most of the Dodgers sets I had been working on and sworn off almost all modern cards. Even the Butler collection has been gathering dust. I pick stuff up here and there for it, but just can't get all that excited about it anymore.

Today's mail changed that a little bit. Some of you may remember that I picked up a couple of Turkey Red cards at the last Chicago National from Mike Peich. I had no intention of grabbing any, but once I made the plunge I was hooked. Over the course of the next several months I picked up the rest of the Brooklyn set except one: George Bell. I had several friends keeping an eye out in Atlantic City for it, but they had no luck. I'dve also had the card on my daily search list for at least the last six months, but it remained elusive. That finally changed several days ago when one popped up on eBay. Ended up picking it up for just over the mb and $50 less than the budget I had set for the National.

http://i67.tinypic.com/fyzlht.jpg

Another Dodgers set falls. Guess I'll get serious about Red Man next.
