I don't have a lot of pre war anymore but I kept this one, from an early Love of the Game auction and one of my favorite cards, love the whole thing; the action, the colors, the wimpiest swing ever!

The only one in the t209-II set. Enjoy!
Cheers, Mike |
Top o' the morning to ya, friend Mike. Neat T209-2 but am having a hard time figuring out the dynamics of the tag with the glove and ball hovering like that.
|
|
Well, David, it always struck me as a bit odd, too, since I doubt Pressley could have stretched his arm underneath Pritchard to re-emerge on the other side. Plastic Man was 30+ years from being introduced. I'm afraid it's the old "pose-the-glove-and-ball-next-to-the-players" ruse to make the photo seem like a real tag.
But, these guys were Class C minor leaguers so anything was possible! Cheers, Mike |

Some would say mentally challenged instead

My inclusion of this card may confirm to some that I am horizontally challenged. But you must admit, if Cooper continues his batting follow through in this same trajectory, he might just qualify.

....the Vander Meer is a variation of the '37-'39 Orcajo Reds postcard set. The regular version has no sponsor and the other ad-type was for " Val Decker Meats". ...I haven't seen a lot of Billy Perrin cards out there. I blame hoarders. Guy named "Leon"..... ... |

...1933 "Canadian Butterfinger" premium of rookie Gee Walker of the Detroit Tigers and 1936 Wide Pens R314 Goudey ( type 2, no "litho" ) premium of Alex Hooks of the Philadelphia Athletics. ..the Canadian version of the Butterfingers candy bar premium is smaller than the U.S. version . It's still huge though.. .. |
