I'm a big fan of Ol' Pete and feel that in recent years he has become one of the most underrated ball players relative to his accomplishments. Perhaps his cantankerous attitude and heavy drinking diminished his appeal in comparison to that of the gentlemanly, Christy Mathewson [---I, for one, am all the more impressed that late in his career he could be brought in to successfully save game 7 of the World Series while hungover]. However, it is often overlooked that Alexander the Great was also a war-wounded hero from WWI...

Wow-- some gorgeous pieces here. The sheer concept of those signed T206s tickles the mind. Here's my two faves; just could not pick one over the other.

PCL OJ card
My favorite card would have to be a PCL player from Old Judge. A close runner up would be Cap Anson n uniform from same series.

...please do not count the pinholes but check out that Stetson on that lone fan...( numerous pinholes on a card indicate that someone else liked it a lot , too ) IMHO |

These are my favorites I love the "E" pose of hal chase and post war as a kid I remember in early 90s buying an ex-mt 51 bowman Snider for $10 bucks because their was pen on it. Black ball point on the bottom that read duke snider. I eventually sold it and bought this vintage signature as a replacement.
