Babe Ruth Signed Baseball Drew Max Video
|
Good video. What a joke.
|
According to Marc Goldman, President AAU, "Drew Max has only been wrong twice."
That's freakin' hilarious!!! |
Video
"wrong twice that I know of"
hysterical! |
Drew Maxx is a joke that is why Pawn star used another guy now on the show.
|
AAU did the right thing and offered the guy what he paid for the ball, but the guy turned that down and demanded a ball worth 50,000. That is just plain stupid and he gets neither.
|
The buyer of the ball is a Grade A idiot.
Spending $1450 on something he obviously knows nothing about and thinking he can then turn it into $50K and turning down a chance to get even on the dumb shit thing he did. Hey idiot buyer, I got a deed to the George Washington Bridge, signed by George Washington and Chris Christie. Let's make a deal, you can surely make a profit on it. |

Anyone notice how bad Goldman was shaking?

isn't offering the guy the $1450 an admission of guilt?

Is a true autograph collector going to submit their authentic autographs to Drew Max for authentication? I think not. |

Demanded $50,000 ball. What a joke.

Here's another Drew Max beauty, currently on ebay. Amazing how those three Legends signed in a perfect horizontal line across the barrel of the bat.
Nope... no tip off there  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Base...#ht_644wt_1161 |
Chris,
I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm referring to fudd sayings there's never a real autograph on auctionzip. Then you rely back to me about Drew max. |

Definitely worthy of a major auction,, ZIP maybe ?? :D. |

AAU could always replace it with this certified beauty listed on ebay!!!

And it has many actual bids,,wtf :confused::confused::eek: |

Again you obviously don't know! I just went on and found MANY items that are real. So how can you say there's NOTHING REAL. And the site is a place for LOCAL Auctions to post their items of upcoming auctions, so most of it is not from estate sales. It's not their job to police every single small auction house in America. |
Love your rants and venting, Fudd.

When confronted with the age of the ball making it impossible for Ruth to sign it, Goldman stuck to his guns. "Who you gonna believe? Me or your lying eyes?" |
Thanks Chris. Im also glad Pawn Stars uses Steve Grad now. they musta figured out this WPOS Max is garbage.

I believe those types of sellers have their own ebay reps and attempts to remove their items get sabotaged. The ball sold for $4K,, damn. |
i am kinda speechless , i just turned in 2 minutes ago, at one time i could get a item pulled within 1 hour, and rich no top sellers dont have reps anymore at least i dont they cut back, ebay has cut back on all the stuff , i find it hard to believe one of you guys or many of folks didnt report this , lets see if my email got it pulled , if it doesnt i wont send in another item just a joke
|
ok well at least they pulled it after i turned in but it is hard to imagine that could make it through a whole auction and enough time for someone to pay

Ebay seller 410fiveofus

Wow, this story gets even better.
The buyer of that Babe Ruth forgery, now has it listed on Ebay with full disclosure. Ebay seller 410fiveofus writes "If anyone is looking for a beautiful Babe Ruth ball with a real COA for your baseball collection ONLY, this may be it." He purchased it for $1450.00. Now he's looking to make a profit on his newly-purchased forgery. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Autographed-...p2056016.l4276 Attachment 135425 Attachment 135426 |
Honesty has to count for something, and there is always CC.
|
The seller's location is Maryland.
I'm wondering if the seller is listing it for Jim Clemmons. |
Ebay has removed that listing.
|
So in the end, the collector has the same scruples as the authenticator. A match made in heaven!
Ken |
I BID $50,000 ;);):D:D:D:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::eek:

He shouldn't have been selling it, but, hey, one can't describe that ball more honestly than he did. |
Quote:
Then him (or someone else) lists that crap on Ebay (with full disclosure) so he can try to recoup his $1450.00. I hope Mr. Clemmons enjoys his $1450.00 sandwich, plus his $200 snack (JSA fee). |

People sell fakes all the time.
Secretarial, autopen, traced over, batboy, etc. As long as it is disclosed, I don't have a problem with it. |

What if the buyer wants to flip it and doesn't provide the same information?
|
Quote:
If it was $100 and sold as a replica, one could make the argument it is a legit sale. But thousands? |
I was just offered this ball in an e mail apparently from the guy who bought it in the auction.
We have had an interesting e mail exchange :D. |
You mean somebody bought it off ebay??

In his e mail subject line to me were the words: "Would you be interested in buying this Babe Ruth ball" One of the funny lines in his following e mails said: "I thought maybe you could help but was I wrong." He never asked for my help, all he did was try to sell the ball to me and claim that the interview did not tell his story completely. I do not, for the life of me, know why he thought I could help or why I would even help him in this instance. btw - He did mock us all here on 54 when I told him that people are mocking him on an internet forum. |
He should have taken the money AAU offered him and run. Lesson learned with no monetary loss.
But apparently he is bent on flipping a fake for a profit. The greed and/or stupidity of some people is beyond belief. |
There is an auction company in PA,,, two word name, one of the words is an insect,,, I am sure they would be happy to have it .

Man, I've been watching Pawn Stars for a long time and was not aware of this Drew Max character or the "Al" screw up from the other guy. Glad I joined these forums, you guys have already blown my mind! ha

Now it's Steve Grad who is their go to guy as you probably know |
On Craigslist near me now. http://annapolis.craigslist.org/clt/4346155677.html
Up,for sale. Babe Ruth Authenticated baseball with COA from Pawn Stars famed Drew Max. The ball,is beautiful but I will state JSA believes it is not authentic. I am selling the ball only with the fact that it comes with AAU backing and I will not offer any refunds so the buyer takes the risk. Anyone wanting a nice ball complete with a valid COA for their collection may be quite interested in this ball. Do not buy this ball with the expectation of re-selling for a profit as you probably would be disappointed. I know I was after what JSA said. $5000 or,best offer. I will only meet in a public place and will only take cash or a cashiers check.. No,personal checks. |
Just noticed he has a bunch of listings on craigslist ranging from $2500 to $5000. Most he stated that JSA found it fake. In this one however, He fails to mention that and is pairing it with a JSA Mantle ball to make it look legit.
http://baltimore.craigslist.org/clt/4365751240.html Babe Ruth has COA from AAU for $2500 Mickey Mantle has COA from JSA for $500 Buy both for $2750 Will meet in public location only . |

If he consigns that ball to CC, he would probably get his money back and maybe some profit. Some bidder that doesn't know it's history will buy it.
|
Aside from being stupid Jim is certainly a quality honest guy.:eek:
