T206 Doppelgangers
3 Attachment(s)
Hey, First off I'm brand new to Net54. I love the informative posts everyone's been sharing. Anyway, about 6 months ago I got into collecting vintage cards, particularly T206s, and I definitely have gotten the Monster bug. So much so that I'm starting to notice people that look a lot like T206 players. Just thought it would be fun to start a thread about T206 dopplegangers or look-alikes. Post celebrities, relatives, friends, whomever who resemble T206 players
To start it off: Red Ames aka Nic Cage Clark Griffith aka Jeremy Irons Jimmy Collins aka Rich Sommer (plays Harry Crane on Mad Men) |
Welcome.....
Great thread! that Collins is a dead ringer:eek:
|
Welcome man, nice way to break the ice. haha that Nic Cage picture cracks me up

I am at work so maybe someone could help me out with pix but Ed Hahn always reminds me of a "Monty Python's Flying Circus" era Michael Palin.:D

I enjoyed this thread so much, I wanted to try and contribute...
Sorry these are not quite as good as some of the others.... |
|
Know this is a bit off the topic but thot I was the only that noticed these.... My monkey is the 55 Topps set and the Maddux/Elliott thing has always been something that struck me as "reincarnation"

I'm glad celebrity look-a-likes are back in the mix, so I thought I'd bring this old thread back up as there were some good ones posted.
Lately I noticed Art Devlin is a dead ringer of the boss character in the new AMC show Catch and Halt Fire. If you like Mad Men you'll love this new series. |

Not a T206, but I came across this photo of Dave Bancroft the other day. Looks like a young Robert Duvall to me.

I am busting... Falling out of my chair.
I am belly laughing so hard... This may be the best thread I have seen in quite some time! So many spot on resemblances. The only way most of these could be contested would be to get our Net 54 Ear, Nose, and Throat guy to dissemble the theory it's not actually them b/c of the height of the ear lobes. You guys have out done yourselves... My personal fave's : Riggles, Putin, and Kaufman are spot on. Wow - Keep this thread going forever...

Resurrecting an old thread, but I couldn't resist. Bought this card card a week ago because of the odd red color. I thought it was recolored, but I don't think it was. Looks like ink (or hair dye) from the original printing.
Print experts, any theories on how this turned out the way it did? |

Can you imagine if we tried to find dopplegangers for the entire Monster? We'd end up with some pretty damned random comparisons, and probably annoy most of the board in the process. |

Though Walter Johnson himself did not resemble Matt Dillon, his T206 hands at chest slightly does.
