will 2nd T3, nothing compares in terms of looks in my opinion.

1953 Bowman & 1967 Topps are my favorites!

T3 & 53 Bowman....the colours just pop.

Personally I love black and white cards and the 1920's E121 are my favorites. Kind of like the Amsel Adams of baseball cards with their iconic images.

I've got to go with 53 Topps.

Agreed that the Reese is visually stunning, especially in hand. Having said this, I would love to see this image, framed within a T3 border, and rendered in the turn-of-the-century color lithography treatment of a photograph many of us enjoy.

I think the T3's are gorgeous and are my pick for the best-looking card set. Other personal favorites include the N43 issue, T205, Cracker Jacks, 1933 DeLongs, and the Diamond Stars. Post-war favorite is 1957 Topps.

Agreed. Best looking set, and you should remove the '55 Bowman ( TV Set ) and replace it with the '53 Bowman.

T3, nothing else is close.
And I prefer the 1965 Topps for best post-war set.

1953 Bowman Color. The photography is simply beautiful. The uniforms, the backdrop of the old stadiums...amazing. And no obtrusive logos, or typography whatsoever.

Of the ones listed, I love the T206 set.

I 2nd that sentiment on N162. Tough to choose a 2nd for me.. Probably 5-6 tied. I do love all that the T202 offers though.. Classic BW action shots, nice portraits and sweet write ups on back.

Separately, I find '55 Bowman to be one of the ugliest sets of all time.. Just my opinion though.

How can anybody not love a card like this?

I know the cards are treated photographs, but they are just beautiful. I'm torn between the T206 Johnson portrait, the '53 Bowman Color Stan Musial, and the '58 Topps Roberto Clemente as my choice for favorite all-time card.

That's a beautiful 40 of Johnson. I'd have to go with T3, Obaks, and whatever set that says "The weiner the world awaited" on the front. Just because.

1948 Leaf Baseball!! Nothing more beautiful than a "centered-well registered" short print.

Sticking with my favorite set of all time - E-107's.

T3's by a land slide. For those who have never held one in person to see just how incredible they really are, I'd suggest that you do.

Cracker Jacks (preferably 14's come in 2nd)

Pre War - T3 (The T206 Johnson port. is the BEST prewar card).
Post War - 1953 Bowman Color (The Mantle is the BEST postwar card, hands down IMO).
Man I love these threads about best vs rest!

I've handled many T3s and many T212 Obaks over the years and the latter still comes out on top for me.

Pretty easy choice IMO

I don't know what's more disturbing. Cracker Jack being misspelled or the inclusion of 1955 Bowman.

Picking the best looking set is like picking my favorite song. What it is today, it won't be tomorrow.

Today my vote is 1956 Topps, with 1953 Bowman on its rear.

I agree that the 53 Bowman Reese may be the best looking card of all time. I have a T3 of Clarke that is visually awesome. However, I believe the T202 is the best looking set. I really like the color photos on both sides of the B/W photo. This is a set I am slowly working to complete. It was also the first tobacco card I ever bought.

I like Old judge, 1914 Zeenuts, and T4s... There are so many beautiful PCL sets, I'm surprised not even one has been included.

I gotta go with the T3 / T9 set. Love the 53 Color Bowmans too.

The Large Allen and Ginters from 1888 always have to be considered IMO

They wont get any love but I think a high grade 1933 Delong is stunning.

My favorites are the 53 Bowman color set and the George C. Millers.

Always have and always will like the T205s.

Also think the E 107 is the best looking of all time. There`s something about the black and white sets that really intrigue me, and seeing a high graded one is just a bonus. Second choice for me, 56 Topps. Great looking set !

I voted T3, these things are totally awesome.

For Topps though, I would pick 1956 by far over any other Topps set.

E90-1 has of course the unique Joe Jackson card that looks AMAZING WHEN THE RED LIPS ARE PLACE CORRECTLY!

I'm with Jerry. I think the cards in the N162 set are the most beautiful of all time. I have seen some high grade copies where the image almost appears three dimensional. This is 19th century lithography at its best.

My favorite set is the T209 B&W cards, the outdoor poses only really. That is amazing for me to say when you consider I have zero of them and have always liked them. They are like Cal Lg OJ cards for the middle class :)

I voted for T206. I'm surprised it's losing on here.

I think we can all agree that while we have preferences, pretty much all the sets being listed are incredible. They have the charm that modern cards will never achieve (and this coming from a guy that's been a modern card collector for three years).

I'd forgotten to vote, so I threw my hat in for the T206. The T3 set is way out in front.

It's tough to pick two... even from this list of greats!

It's hard to narrow it down. I like T202s for the mix of color and black & white, plus information on the backs. A special mention for N300s and N162s.

T3 for me - I'd love to own one someday.

Did anyone ever take a stab at rendering the '53 Bowman Color Reese in a T3 format? I think that'd be so stinkin' cool.

I think the '53 Bowman Reese was already a stab at T3. General consensus is that it's a 1941 B&W spring training photograph that was colorized. There's a couple of threads here on the forum that talk about it. I'd try to search them out for you but I stink at that stuff.
