O/T:For all of you who doubt me paying the card dealers I owe money to!!!
Message to all the people who doubt me and my coin sale:
My friend just called he purchased his plane ticket and will be in my town tomorrow and once the money is deposited (and cleared by my bank at the very same time...just called my bank to let them know and they said no problem we will clear it the same exact day you deposit it) into my account I will then pay all the dealers from who I purchased a card from in FULL. So to all the haters out there please take note I am a honest buyer and respect my obligations (99% of the time like almost anyone here....nothing is 100% in life when it comes to humans and the way they behave). |
Hi Adrian
Most of us are not doubting you. I am sure you will take care of your purchases as you have said. You have 1 more new thread today and 13 more posts. Please use them wisely. If I were you I would consolidate all of my thoughts and then post, instead of responding to every post as you have been doing. You shouldn't even respond to this one as you will have 1 less to use if you do. Good luck!! |
Shouldn't you have posted this after your payment has been posted and accounts have been paid? C'mon man!
|
Thanks Adrian, pleas let us know when his plane lands, and how his flight was.

I have had no good reason to believe you weren't buying/paying for the stuff.
You could probably consolidate your threads into one or two threads, but I don't have anything material against what you post or what you've picked to purchase. My 78 year old dad would refer to you as a yahoo, but he calls me a yahoo sometimes. |
Thanks to those who responded with a positive attitude...just trying to clear any doubts here nit trying to look like a SHOW OFF!!!
|
I haven't followed the prices you have been paying. The cards themselves you've picked are fine cards-- I don't think anyone here would say otherwise--, but unless you're a multi millionaire, I'd be conscious of paying reasonable prices.
|
Adrian's a lot of fun, I'm glad he's here. He also appears to have some pretty thick skin, which probably prompts more razzing than usual.
|
I like Adrian. I would like to see him pick an appropriate avatar, hmmmm, food for thought. Dave
|
I was in a bad mood, but this thread has me chuckling. BTW to all the people I owe money good luck!

Actually, all the threads could be consolidated into no posts |
Ha ha pretty good one
|
Should be a new thread, but I'm not Adrian
Let's keep those Adrian Avatars coming.
This one is nice, only 7.7 Kb, and respects those who care to ignore. |
Hahahaha gotta love Homer Simpson (I guess he is crazy/stupid like I am some times that is for sure) with that Mantle. How do I use it as my image for my profile?
|
People are selling this guy cards without payment in full? Every time I hear about someone getting their arms ripped off by sticking them in the cage to feed a lion, my first thought is how tragic and horrible it is. My second thought is, "Why the hell are they sticking their arms in a lion's cage? It's a freaking lion. What did they think was going to happen???"
It can be "Seller beware," too. The saying doesn't just have to apply to buyers. And I'm about as lenient as it comes as far as letting people pay after sending them the cards first. -Ryan |

Adrian - I like your enthusiasm. Keep having fun, and don't worry about proving anything. Here is my nomination for your avatar. It has been mine in the past, and I humbly donate it to you!

Anne of cleves
Of all posts this wins a prize for needing most historical knowledge to understand. Henry the eighth found Anne repulsive and never consummated their marriage. At least she kept her head. I assume the sellers will have a happy marriage and consummate these sales.

Well, Scott, everyone knows that it rains a lot in Seattle. That's what makes the pedestals a bit slippery out there.

Just curious........
1. What avatar are you going to select?
2. Has everyone been paid for their cards? |
Tao Moko
Yes they have ALL been paid in full!!! Echecks on Ebay take a while (plus I had to wait to get paid for my coin from my friend before I could send the Echecks....it took altogether about 3 weeks for ALL the sellers to get paid....and I very much appreciate the dealers who helped me and who trusted me...I will for sure buy from these guys in the future)....but yes the money has cleared for all the cards I purchased. In the future I will simply pay right away and only use a Echeck for items of greater value. Leon can confirm this since he knows a few of the sellers. |
Not sure of the point of this thread. I'm sure (or at least I'd like to think) all members here pay for their purchases. My rule of thumb is I never make purchases unless I have the cash in hand. Anyway, I don't know why anyone here would be interested in your personal business (except sellers awaiting payment of course). With that said, welcome to the hobby, and happy collecting!

It is very simple a few people doubted I paid for some more expensive cards and I simply wanted them to know that the dealers got paid....so I do not look like a bad buyer....and that I am not a liar. |

Yes I had told them it would take 2 to 3 weeks in advance. |
Adrian, what kind of a French Canadian name is Mulligan? If you are just as Irish as me then I'll know you are full as of it as I am.

I am half Irish and half Hungarian....no french in me but since I live in Quebec (Province) I had to learn it at a very young age and then did all my schooling in french (even at university). |

This country wouldn't even exist without the french. They are the ones who helped give us our freedom and gifted us the Statue of Liberty. They are one of our closest allies.

The Coin Deal
Ok, here is how I believe this coin deal went down:
Adrian met with a foreign buyer who arrived in his private jet at an undisclosed airport somewhere in Canada. This had all been previously arranged. Adrian arrived at the secret location first. After about 20 minutes he began to pace nervously and then, in the distance, he could see a black, no change that, a *white* limo approaching. The limo pulled up and came to a stop. The door opened and a dark tanned man in a white suit wearing a fedora hat stepped out. He had a suitcase. It was the mysterious foreign buyer! The buyer asked Adrian to open his suitcase, which he did. The buyer stepped forward to see the valuable coin inside - the very coin that would finance Adrian's pending card purchases!!! But then Adrian said "Not so fast, let's see the cash first". The buyer open his suitcase and Adrian counted the money while the buyer inspected the coin. The buyer nodded his approval of the coin and Adrian was satisfied after counting the money. They exchanged suitcases. The mysterious buyer then said "Ciao baby" as he got into his limo and sped off to parts unknown. Adrian got into his car and yelled out loud "Vindicated at last!!!" as he sped off in his car. Fade to black and roll the credits ... So is that pretty much how this deal went down Adrian? :D |
auggiedoggy
Hahahaha!!! Your story is SO much cooler than reality!!! No actually my brother made the deal since he works near the airport (where my friend landed and then left 20 minutes later by plane back to his city). Then a few hours later my close friend made a direct deposit to my bank account (I was not nervous I know this guy very very well...he his a young multi millionaire and ULTRA honest)....then I paid for my cards using Echecks...and so far I have received the 52 Topps Mantle and the Ray Demmitt T206 St-Louis variation.....NOW I was nervous as hell waiting for the 52 Mantle from FeDex....I just kept looking at the clock and walking around the house trying to pass the time and at 2h30 pm yesterday the card was in my hand and by 3h30 it was put into my bank vault and will no longer come out until long long down the road. Tomorrow I will be getting another card and the last one next Monday threw 2 separate shipping services. Then one last trip to my bank vault to put 2 more cards there and that will be that. The shopping spree is over for a few months....next card on my list as you guys know is the T206 O'Hara variation card in a 2 grade by either BVG/SGC/PSA. Next year or much later this year I will bu ya Babe Ruth rookie in a 1 or 2 grade again by either 3 grading companies. |

Glad to hear your cards are arriving to their new home. Cheers! |

I wish I could display them at home but there is NO way I will be doing that to many worries they are perfect in my bank vault. If we lived in a utopia world they would always be on display at my place for friends and my family to enjoy. |

To many stains on the front for my taste plus he ONLY ships to the U.S. Thanks for the link I appreciate it!!! I truly want to buy the nicest one I can find I know of a PSA 3 that is PERFECT but the price is way way to high almost 6000$....I would NEVER pay 6000$ for a PSA 3. |
I have to say Leon's friend Tony who sold me the 52 Topps Mantle in PSA 4 was not lying when he said it looks like a 5....when I saw it yesterday it looked perfect and the blue image is so so vibrant and with ZERO stains...I love the card...and would not sell it even for 20 000$.
Tony is a way cool guy and super honest!!! I have to give him 2 thumbs up for sure!!! I will for sure keep him as a person from who I buy my more expensive cards from. |

lollllll Actually Canada's economy is pretty good and we only have 35 million people here (and so much land it is crazy) so a lot of room to grow and become a major influence in the world. It will take a long long while but I believe it will happen. We have SO MANY natural resources here it is crazy!!! |
The cards you have aren't all that rare. Meaning they could easily be bought again in the next year. You could buy an insurance policy for them and then display them in your home.
Just a thought.:) |

With my OCD + anxiety disorder I could not stand the idea of having them at my place. I know they are not rare but I just could not do it!!! Every day when I go out it would be on my mind and I would be wasting energy for no reason instead of just enjoying my day. I am happy with a nice desktop picture....plus a PSA 9 52 Mantle (on my desktop) is nicer so I am happy and if I get tired of it then I can put a T206 Wagner and so on and so on!!! |

The books I read the thief would commit suicide before even leaving....ultra dry social science books....just like dust in the mouth for those who do not like that stuff!!! You guys are going to get me into trouble I think I have post the maximum I am allowed per day...maybe 2-3 left. |
